I'm all for it, personally- why not? The more discussion, particularly of the fun variety, the better. Otherwise it might be just a bunch of ads and rants and repetitive queries... yawn.

That's fine....no problem.
So why does everybody think things always turn into a fight with me? (LMAO....that's a question for a different time)
The rules are different because the "attitude" or feel of the board is different.
Florida has had the theme days for a while and probably 98% of the board likes them...so it's a fun thing there.
From what I'm getting (and I know I'm new to the ATL board) there are people who can't stand them here and would like to see them go away completely.
My agreement, when I lobbied to get them to stay here, was that I'd take on the task of handling them, and we'd trim them down.
I asked for a chance to show that they could be better....because frankly there was no structure to them before and they were used only to show standard pics from someones gallery.
Think of it as a compromise....which is exactly what it is.
As far as FL board goes...we've always allowed comments, and the lady to say thanks.
Unfortunately that privilege has been abused by a few guys and gals. They want to turn it into a back and forth discussion with 8+ posts that should be handled by PM. They are on the verge of ruining it for everyone.
I've recently established that lengthy conversations will not be allowed....again because only some felt the need to do it.
So while FL does allow comments...it's limited and enforced.
For right now...I'm glad to see theme day posts be allowed on this board. Perhaps if everyone involved shows that they can go well, and be on topic, we may get things to loosen up a little bit.
Baby steps.
Just sayin'
