Some guys just think they are special and that will be the difference. Most likely they are thinking with the wrong head or newbies.

Reading the reviews and I see a "Provider" who has 7 reviews.  She peaks on service at a 3.  How many reviews do you have to read to write someone off?  OMG, clearly people have TER memberships, how can you possibly be surprised when you see someone and have a bad experience.  I am just shocked that someone can get enough business within the TER community to gather 7 completely terrible reviews.  All similar enough to certainly be believable.

I guess hope springs eternal..."Yeah, 6 other guys had a bad experience...not a single good review, but I'm sure she'll like me..."

I get budgetary restraints, I live with them...but DAYUM.

Is it, perhaps, a reversed pretty woman fantasy?

Maybe, maybe just the thrill of the hunt, maybe a hero complex...

Maybe too hurried or lazy to do any research

Maybe a moron....

Lots of options.  Personally, budget or not I check to A) reduce likelihood of Leo, B) See if ad is real and C) try to avoid rip-offs.

But that's just me...

My only really bad experience was before I started using TER, and she was among my first reviews.

but I've come to the conclusion that NO ONE could be that stupid and the explanation that makes the most sense to me is that these reviewers found TER AFTER getting ripped off.

Of course some of them might just be that stupid to think that they are so special, handsome and charming that they were going to get decent treatment from a known rip off.

One explanation is that people are simply replicating bad reviews for free TER membership.

Think of it - someone decides to post a fake review. They could take time to do a bit of creative writing, copy/modify an existing "good" review (these are usually lengthy), or copy/modify an existing "bad" review (which are usually short). The third option is clearly the quickest and easiest.

Moreover, the faker doesn't really feel "guilty", because he's just harming a bad provider - who obviously deserves to be hurt, right? - anyway. Win/win!

That's long been my assumption when I see a history of bad reviews on a provider.

$

That's an interesting point of view...

And not to take this off topic, but there is also to be noted those who will give a semi-average review to do the same to get their free membership.

One bit of frustration is that in most instances, if it's not altogether BAD, TER won't remove it. However me, being as anal as I am, get annoyed. I have one review that is quite good but says I offered him something that I most definitely did not. Now it's a source of dissatisfaction.

To be said about a bad provider, however, sometimes TER can be slow to post reviews as well. Or the gentleman slow to post them. So these 4 or 5 bad experiences could have well been within a couple weeks/months before they were all posted or she had changed her phone number/name/email.

I always try to give the benefit of the doubt :)

Having a TER membership vs. VIP TER membership are not the same.  Not saying the review submission for VIP status is not happening, but perhaps the gents did not have VIP when they saw the provider in question.  This may lead to another explanation for this hope springing eternal mentality of which you speak.

It is possible in this day and age of B&S, ripoff, and bogus listings that non-VIP members are seeing a bunch of reviews as a means to validate a provider as simply real.  Non VIP members can't see any of the juicy details, and pretty sure they can't see any of the numerical ratings.  I would think they would get the gist from reading the general details section, but we both know how lazy some can be, so perhaps they aren't reading even that.  Just a possibility.

Speaking of review;  I am also surprised every time I read reviews blasting a lady for rushing when the reviewer has only scheduled a fifteen minute quickie?  Guess I should change my alias to RedLobster because I clearly seerude differently.

Some guys just think they are special and that will be the difference. Most likely they are thinking with the wrong head or newbies.
