Need some input from the community.  Made arrangements to see a highly reviewed provider for the following day.  She was to e-mail directions to her incall 1 hour prior to our appt.   At 45 minutes before the appointment, having heard nothing, I e-mailed her for directions.  Her response was "I will not be available until Saturday afternoon (4 days later).  Sorry about that."  WTF!!! I had taken a 1/2 day of vacation for this appt.  She later said her period had caught her unawares.  This all sounds like a bunch of euphonious B.S. to me.  I don't mind her cancelling the appointment, and she doesn't need to have a reason to do so, but at least she could have been a little more courteous and given me a heads up sooner.  

I am a relative newbie, but my question is does this kind of thing happen often?  Am I justified in being mad and honestly a little hurt about this?  

I know there is nothing to do about this, just want to know what to expect going forward.

It happens to all hobbyists. Not too long ago, the same thing happened to me except it was 10 minutes before the appointment.

I once had a provider come over for an outcall and we chatted for a bit.  When she got up to take off her panties, she started spotting.  Needless to say, the session ended.  She was overly embarrassed and apologized.  I couldn't believe she didn't know it was her time or maybe she thought she could get in and out first.

Another provider and I went to dinner first.  During our meal, she got up to use the restroom and came back and asked to stop at a gas station on the way home.  That session also ended after dinner.

I've had others cancel ahead of time because of this, so it happens.

I assume with birth control, that periods are more predictable, but apparently not - or not all providers use birth control?  Did she at least offer you a reduced session for your troubles?

No she didn't.  I have no problem with her cancelling the appointment - just that she didn't do it in a more timely fashion.  Either way I am over it.  Just had to vent.

On her side there is a lot of communication with other people not just you.   Easy for mistakes to happen.    On your side this is a business agreement and service.    A lot of nice providers out there.    Take your business somewhere else if dissatisfied.

I offer to you my regrets to what occurred to you.  I have experienced this as well, but fortunately not too often.  I know the feeling as a looked forward to expectation is set for a girl of choice, then bang "a drop". Here are my thoughts

1. The lady always has the right to take on a booking or to cancel it. That you had to contact her to determine the status was bad form on her part.  Informally, I also believe that the "period" excuse rather blows.  This has somewhat of a "low rent" overtone to it. The combination of the two looks bad.

2. Given that I have mentioned that she has to right to take on the booking or cancel, you also have the right to inform the marketplace of your experience.  Fairness goes both ways. There are always two sides, and to be frank we don't know her side, as is understood, from this posting.  Write your side and let her rebut, if she wishes.

3. I would write a review, other fellows would be well informed based upon your experience.  Full knowledge leads to a better hobby scene.  That full knowledge allows the professionally focused providers to shine.  If this becomes a habit on her part then its time to "name and shame" as some call it.

Again, she had the right to cancel.  Her lack of notification and provided excuse; however, make her look shabby.

Guys shouldn't get butthurt about things like that.  Women have lady things we guys can't and won't ever understand.  You shrug it off and say c'est la vie.

But ladies must also remember this is a business and if you inconvenience a client (even if the situation is beyond your control) it behooves you to offer something for said inconvenience.

The exact same thing that the OP mentioned happened to  me twice this year.  I didn't get upset about it - life happens.  And both ladies were sweet and apologetic about it.  But one of them offered me something extra to reschedule with her and the other didn't.

Take a wild guess which one is a regular of mine now...

responded: "Easy for you to say, but I'm the one driving around with a big lump in my pants!"  We still laugh at that.  As Ginger said above, it does happen and how it's dealt with is what matters most.  It is also important that the lady realize your situation.  Some guys have lots of freedom and flexibility: reschedule for tomorrow, call someone else for later, etc.  Others have a lot less.  You have to take time off from work.  Others have to arrange a window free from "where have you been?"  Etc.

He did bring it to the marketplace and inform us of nothing other than a provider has a period...He didn't name names, which in this instance I think is respectful. I seriously doubt the provider is going to come her and defend her actions...Think about it. Do you need photo proof???? Yeah me either.

The OP cannot write a review as no meeting took place...

As for her lack of notification, have you ever experienced first day menstrual cramping? My ex could hardly get out of bed, much less drag her laptop out and send cancellation notifications...

My suggestion, give her a second chance if you really want to see her...I'd be standing where ever she told me to stand come Saturday

got an email. She just got her period and her grandfather was dying. She had emailed just ten minutes prior saying our meeting was on.

You never really know what's up, and maybe it's best you don't know.

later.  Didn't have the sea sponge (or whatever) handy so inserted a differently shaped sponge - perhaps a makeup sponge or similar.  I knew nothing of the issue, we had a great time and I went my merry way.  The next day the lady told me that she was unable to get the sponge out herself.  She was staying with a friend - one of Atlanta's present top providers - and the friend had to take the sponge out for her.  I subsequently have seen the friend several times and we still laugh about "spongegate."

Just a quick update.  First - thanks for all the input.  When I reread this I came across as somewhat of a whiner for which I apologize. 2nd - something very good came of this.  I contacted a 2nd provider, who even though I didn't have all the prerequisite references for verification, went the xtra mile and did a very great deal of legwork to verify me by other means.  We plan to meet this weekend.  This will give me the two references most providers require before they will see a newbie.  I plan to give her the original amount I would have given to the first provider as well as her fee.  She deserves it.

But to answer your question newbie, it rarely happens (if at all) with well reviewed providers, so I think there's some lame in your game. Maybe you should start with some agency girls first and work your way up, or you could just quit being a whiney ass.

I agree - I did come off as sounding whiney which I apologized for (which you would know if you read the entire string).  What I said in my post is 100% accurate.  I was not criticizing her for cancelling the  appointment - only for not letting me know at least some point in time prior to me leaving work.  I had to call her 45 minutes before the appointment to find out that she was not available.  

As to your 2nd statement - you are right - there probably is a lot of lame in my game - but I reread the entire e-mail string and I did not misstate anything.

What is wrong with Agency girls.  I have had the good fortune to see one and she was fantastic

Highly reviewed providers usually know that guys review them and therefore, without good reason, won't usually do something that might hurt their reputation.

I had this happened probably once, with a highly reviewed pornstar provider in L.A.  Her reason was even worse.  About an hour or so before, she said she was tired from cleaning up the 4th of July party, though she immediately rescheduled for the next morning and we met the next morning.  

Also, highly reviewed provides do really care about their performance and might not meet with you unless they're at their 100%.  

An interesting flip side is that highly reviewed providers might not actually care much about losing one potential client or so because they probably already have a solid client base and established reputation, whereas providers trying to build reputation might care more (since one or two bad reviews can hurt them, and at that stage, every potential client matters).  It might not have been coincidental that about the only time that this happened to me was with highly reviewed top dollar high class pornstar provider.  I mean, at my professional career, I remember caring a lot more about each and individual client earlier in my career, and later in my career I don't care much bc I have so many more other ppl to attend to.  

Another reason might be that one of her important regulars or big money clients wanted to schedule.  

Whatever reason, this doesn't happen often and it might have been legit and it probably wasn't personal.

Best providers are the ones who aren't totally newbies (so that they aren't nervous and can provide comfortably) but aren't also very high established (so that they are still working hard to ramp up their reputation and client base).  When I search through reviews, I often find myself focusing on girls with maybe 10 - 20 reviews.
