Changing things up a bit, I’m always on the lookout for good reads. What books are you reading these days?

I do lots of technical reading, writing and analysis in my career, but my personal reading interest resides mostly in the general non-fictional realm. I love well written biographies, and I’m an absolute sucker for history. Right now I’m working on the volumes by Will and Ariel Durant titled The Story of Civilization. These works are a bit dated, but it very well researched and written. If you like history, you’ll love these volumes.

I have lots of books I could recommend, but what’s everyone else here reading?

Was that all 11 volumes? That would be a very heavy lift for a high school course! Impressive!!!

I wish I had read even a single volume of this work when I was a high schooler. Will Durant had a very good writing style that made his work pleasant to read, particularly for presentation of history.

Thanks! Though I’m not prone to reading fiction, though this appears to be a fictional account it also appears to address a very realistic scenario, one that’s plaguing our society today. Looks like a worthy read, and I’d be willing to wager it would open up minds to how life is really experienced by more than a few. Ima get it! Thanks again.

The Chronicles of Amber by Zelazny. When I want an easy read, I typically go for Star Wars novels. Some gents recently got me some sex work related books off my Amazon wishlist, and I’d really like to start on those.

My bookshelves at home are getting overcrowded, but I can’t bear to part with my books, so I’ll just have to buy more bookshelves. LOL

Randy, if you like non-fiction history biographies, I recommend Bad Girls and Wicked Women by Jan Stradling.
