I know that there's been a thread or ten about female condoms but I always like the first person testimony type of article.  
My experience is that I prefer FCs to regular MCs as it makes position transitions so much easier.  

I did not know FCs were THAT hard to obtain. I will definitely be tipping tip better.

There is a learning curve with female condoms.  Although the first-person perspective is interesting to read, generally it takes 5-6 tries to get the hang of using female condoms to experience their full pleasure, unless your partner is experienced with them already.  So I don't think an article which focuses on the experiences of first-time users is the best testament to Female Condoms.

They are hard to get.  I wish they were more readily available, for sure.  I have to go to specialty stores or order things online anyway though: special lubrications, XS black gloves, etc., so I just get my FC2's when I order or go buy those things.

In my opinion, FC2's are better for three reasons that the first-time users in this article didnt experience/consider:

1)  more sensation for the guy, when the inside of the FC2 is lubricated properly so that his cock slides in and out of the condom, which stays relatively stationary inside the lady.

2)  less irritation for the lady from a condom rubbing back and forth on her, even if the guy wants to slip in and out of her over and over again and tease her entrance, something that can be very irritating with regular male condoms.  also if she wants to add more lube, its more sensation for the guy and not less sensation like when you add lube with regular condoms.

3)  more protection from skin-to-skin contact in the genital region, meaning that things such as HPV, HSV, and other STI's that are spread via skin-to-skin contact have a statistically lower chance of spreading if there is less skin-to-skin contact between the base of the penis and the lips of the vagina.  since the FC2 provides additional protection from this in comparison to regular condoms, this makes the FC2 a safer option for anyone concerned about contracting these types of STI's.

I personally find female condoms to be a win / win / win!  But I didn't feel that way after the first time I tried using them.  I actually carried them around with me for years "just in case" someone wanted to use one without really ever suggesting them.  Only in the last year did I realize how awesome they are!  Now that I am skilled at using them and experience their enhanced effects, I will never go back to regular condoms.

Amazon offers them for a cost of $21.99 for a quantity of 10-- so they are readily available.  This price includes shipping and tax.  I once bought a package of 3 at a local adult novelty shop for $15!  $5 each!  I totally agree with you about how awsome they are, and they do take some experience getting used to; I've gotten a couple of provider's cherries by introducing them to the FC; one referred to me as Mr Gynocologist when I was doing the insertion!  But doing that is too much work-- it's a lot nicer when a lady skillfully inserts it herself when it's time for use.

I'm a big fan of fc's.  They're great for singles or doubles.  They do take a bit of getting used to but totally worth it.  Well that's my opinion anyway.  It's always nice for us gents to have options.

And if you have a willing partner inserting them can be a fun team sport.  You just need someone that has something long and hard to help you with the insertion.  I'm sure they'll be more than happy to lend a cock... I mean a hand.  But fingers work just fine too...
