You bring up some good points and like everything else around here everyone is going to have their own take on it. Here's mine...
First, I agree that we should be kind and civil to each other. Especially to the new folks that may not be familiar with our ways, traditions, and inside jokes. I'm the first to admit I cut up way too much but I always try to treat others with respect. Like the saying goes "Everyone's entitled to their opinion no matter how wrong it is".

We all have something to say even though many of us don't particularly want to hear it.
I think of this board as a virtual cocktail party. Some are here to tell jokes, some are here to ask serious questions, some are here to flirt with pretty girls and hook up, and yes some (whether they know it or not) are here to drink too much and make asses of themselves. That's just the bell curve of social interaction. I'd like to live in a world where every post is informative, constructive, and positive. But honestly, wouldn't that make the world a less interesting place? Food fights, train wrecks, BSC meltdowns, and class clowns all make life worth living (and this board worth reading).
I don't like the piling on mentality but usually it only happens when someone has stepped far over the line. It's called a social correction. Yes, it's also called shaming. It's not pretty but does have its place in society.
The important thing to not forget is this is more than a dicussion board - this is a business. Never understimate money as a motivating factor. If we (any of us) sense that someone is trying to game the system (such as posting too many threADs) then our society will exact its own brand of justice. I agree that it isn't always fair handed, but vigilante justice never is. If a girl is gaming the system (and is well aware of it) to get more than her fair share of the spotlight then the other ladies (and gents) will cry foul. And rightly so.
I do agree that we should try to be constructive as much as possible, however if you've already been warned once or twice for an infraction the gloves tend to come off. I believe the particular poster you are referring to already had a couple of run ins with the "law" - such as it is. And consequently you saw folks had a hair trigger and jumped on her. FWIW Lisa has not had any such infraction (that I am aware of) even though her post possibly could have been considered a bit of a threAD.
Just my observation - take it for what it's worth. But I do agree generally we should really try to be kind and patient whenever possible. That's the society I'd like to live in (boring though it may be). LOL

I don't typically post much. However, I'd like to share my feelings about what I've seen happening to this board of late. There has been too much vitriol going on, and this serves nobody well.
I refer specifically to the supposed threAds of the last few days of a certain poster of some notoriety. I want to ask one question. What's the big fucking deal?!
Yes, a certain poster seems to have made some posts that could be construed as threADs. Yes, I am familiar with that member's post that started a hate-fueled feeding frenzy. I agree that the poster stepped way out of bounds, and was put in place by other members. The poster disappeared for a bit, and is now back.
Certain members have chosen to point out some things, and the OP has been wise to keep silent so as not to start another shit-storm. Can't we just let that poster continue to post without trashing them? Is this not a discussion board? A topic was posted for discussion, so let's discuss.
If you have something positive, informational, or helpful to say, then speak up. If not....Well, my mother always told me that if I have nothing nice to say, then I should say nothing. And as far as a certain poster's supposed threADs, what makes those posts different from any other recent posts that could also be construed as threADs?
Any provider who posts anything asking any question at all could be construed as a threAD. It brings attention to her, has a link to her reviews, etc. Lisa's post could be construed as a threAD, yet nobody jumped on her. Maybe, b/c it's no big deal! If TER admin has no problems with the threADS, then why should anyone else?
Can we stop spewing hate, and go back to having fun? I'm on the RO board, and I've discovered that those guys are some of the rudest, most asinine people I've ever encountered. I no longer post there, b/c it seems it's their favorite pastime to attack anybody who posts something they don't like. I don't want my home board to suffer the same fate. All this negativity serves no purpose. As a hobbyist, the only thing it tells me, is whom not to see. Well, from a provider's perspective, it could work the same way, telling them whom they may choose not to see as well.
Can we stop with the vitriol, live and let live, and just go on with having fun?! Thank you for listening.
