Bitcoin may become very well know for paying for services since its very discreet and is not traceable. You can even put two phones together to scan a QR code and it instantly makes a payment or money transfer. This keeps both end users as anonymous.
I doubt this would impact providers who deal predominantly in cash transactions (which asallyshouse's savvy spokesman points out,) but this article is prescient as to other transactions, particularly with the pandemic of hacking information week in and week out from credit cards that don't have protective chips embedded in them yet but hopefully will). Bitcoin also has the real potential to save the merchant who has a high percentage of credit card purchases money in bank processing which has been a contentious area for years.
I have only ever had a couple gentlemen use this method though. I have to admit it did make the date seem more transactional, us standing there, side by side with our smartphones, working it out. I prefer the envelope be left by him and pretending I don't see it sitting there. Makes the date feel more natural.
Crypto will grow in popularity as more merchants use it though. I've used it for purchasing lots of times, and I think it's a great alternative, especially in this industry. It's especially nice for the gents that can't have large ATM withdrawals showing up on their monthly statement and must only use credit cards to hobby.
