I think a simple "helpful" or "not helpful" vote button would be... well... helpful. And hobbyists could get points (upvotes, karma, whatever) for contributing helpful reviews. And if you get enough points you could be crowned "King of the Mongers." Sweet... Or at least "Captain on the Ship of Fools." 
Hmmm, maybe if TER chipped in and had a policy like for every 10 (20, 50?...) "helpful" votes you get on a review you get another 15 days. That is incentive not only to write "barely passable" reviews, but to write informative and helpful ones as well. Just a thought. PS: I agree with you on more liking going around. In the virtual world and the real one.
Another option: What if, just a what IF, the "liker", (not licker, LMAO) is known? That might be kind of cool, no?
Sure, why not? I imagine there would be some very entertaining interviews at least. Lol. Not sure about knowing who the likers are though. If that would help or hurt someone's incentive to like a particular post/review/ad. But on a related note, I always thought it would be a nice marketing tool if girls could see who actually "liked" their ads... Might find some potential clients that way. Just sayin'.
