I could really use some creative input here...
This may be an odd request for this forum; but there are some damn creative people here who have to deal with discrete situations. So I thought that there might be a chance someone could offer some good guidance.

Here's the short story... After a marriage that had VERY little intimacy over the past 6 years, I am in the middle of bringing that marriage to an end. (nothing bitter, angry, just two people realizing we're not the best for each other. Kinda like being married to a friend). And not so long ago, I met a wonderful woman who is undergoing the same process, and very similar circumstances. After much denial, resistance and internal objection, and swearing that I'd not get serious about a woman ever again; I am potentially eating my words.

I do not know where this relationship is going for sure; but I can say that I like the direction it is headed. So much so... I have not been participating in the hobby since I've met this person. And if it keeps going the way it is going, my hobby days are done.

All of that said, since we are both in the process of divorce, we have to be discrete. And that includes buying Christmas gifts.
I am a creative guy, but being discrete and creative is tough!! Can anyone offer up any creative, unique gift ideas to give to someone whom you care for, that is discrete?

I can't do jewelry. clothing, vacations or overt big ticket items, yet. I take a lot of pride in being good at buying gifts that are well received. But they are not typically required to be discrete. I am very much looking forward to the day in the not too distant future when we do not have to be discrete.

I've been struggling with this for a month!!!

Thus far I have:
A night away, in a beautiful suite here in ATL (Thursday evening)
supplies to decorate the suite in a beachy motif (our celebratory divorce trip is to Tahiti)
her favorite wine
her favorite snack
her favorite flowers
I made some massage oil
a tasteful neglige
I picked up a few adult toys to explore some grounds we're both curious about...

And now I'm stuck... I want to give her something personal, that she can keep with her. I thought about something small, engraved...

Thank you so much Veronica!

I did actually find something very discrete via Things Remembered. The object of my affection has a very selection of purses, Tory Burch, Spade, Coach, etc... I found her a purse hook that allowed me to fit the perfect, non-descriptive, yet meaningful engraving on it.

Available for store pick up today!

It's small, but she's the type that appreciates the thoughtful little things.

I'm still on the hunt for a few other small things however...

I'm an romantic soul trapped in an old military turned corporate guy body. It's nice to be able to have an object of affection! And have it returned.

Couldn't resist...
Got an engraved purse hook... because she does have exceptional tastes in purses...
Which thanks to your suggestion... I plan on supplementing. I was curious about a purse, but didn't know if it would come off as too easy. But upon thinking about it, choosing wisely, and in accordance with her taste, it will be a fun thing to purchase. And something she could discretely keep in the open.

Thought about the shoes, she has a ton of Tory Burch. I didn't want to risk duplicating what she has.
Loubountins; I have to admit, that was the first I've heard of those. But I will take a look at those. Who carries those in Atlanta? Saks? Bloomingdales

Ironically... the crazy thought that went through my head was precisely because this is the TER board that I'd get some interesting responses. Good ole flames and good suggestions alike; all welcome.

Don't overthink it

And believe me, I am a master at over thinking such things. Ironically, for all the thought I put in on such things, they are invariably wrong. It usually turns out the simplest solutions were often the best choices.

First, agree with others on paying with cash only. Agree with avoiding anything monogrammed or otherwise personalized that could remotely get her dragged into discovery during a divorce. What you have already gotten for her seems very nice, especially the personal touch of things being her favorites. But since you obviously are interested in a lasting relationship, here are three ideas on the lower, sentimental end that indicate your desire for something longer term - (my favorite is #2)

1. Buy her a plant to symbolize your desire to grow together. Unless of course, she habitually kills such things, in which case this is a bad idea.

2. Buy her a jewelry case with a single item inside (necklace or earrings). Include a note inside to indicate that you look forward to filling it up on future holidays.

3. Get her a small Christmas tree and a single ornament (same principle as the jewelry case.)

Everyone seems to want to give flashy bling, but during the holidays it has been my observation that memories and traditions put people more into the Holiday Spirit. (Dang, now I have a mental image of the Linus soliloquy from a Charlie Brown Christmas stuck in my head.)
