The first gives excellent info on Herpes and if you follow the various links will give you excellent info on all STD's. There are pictures of what genital herpes looks like and discussions of when someone is most infectious.

The second link is a Wiki article on AIDS and HIV. The condition that you might be refering to is Pneumocystis pneumonia. It is the "big bang" symptom that was prevalent back in the late 80's early 90's with AIDS patients. Pneumonia in and of itself has nothing to do with HIV.

Here's the reality, the same rules apply in the hobby as in the real world. I have knowm more women with Herpes outside the hobby than inside the hobby, that it was obvious with.

You sound like someone who may be intimidated by the thought of catching an STD. WE all should be on some level. I personally get tested regularly, have attempted to stay as educated as a layman can on the subjects and as of today, I have been hobbying for 27 years and never had an STD. Knock on wood. I did catch the crabs one time from a hippie chick back arounf 1976. Little buggers are a bitch. Fortunately they are easy to get rid of.

So with all of that said, if you are concerned about giving something to a loved one, stop. There are no 100% surefire ways to protect yourself from STD's except don't put your mouth or your dick where it doesn't belong! If the fear or anxiety of catching an STD is going to ruin your enjoyment, why are you here? Why pay $$$ for sex and then feel guilty? Sounds like a waste of money. But that holds true in everyday life too. I know of more people who caught an STD including HIV, in real world encounters than I do though the hobby. Does that mean it doesn't happen? No! I have known of providers who tried to work with HIV and Herpes. One provider still attempts to give just oral sessions when it was openly discussed years back that she had herpes.

So what to do? Read the statistics, make your choices. IV drug users, blacks, those practicing unprotected anal and vaginal sex are always at the top of the statistics. Why? Talk to the experts. Probably, because poverty has always bread drug addiction, prostitution and desperation. If a woman is trying to survive to feed her children and she can't get off the street, she will most likely participate in these risky behaviors. If a heroin or ICE addicted woman can't get enough money to support her habit, she will do whatever someone wants to get that fix.

This is the real world with real issues. If you play in better playgrounds you get less chance of getting these diseases. I said less not NO!! Stay away from flop hotel situations where the girls are seeing 20 guys a day to feed their habits and satisfy her pimp. Stay away from street whores all together. Get checked regularly. If you think you are infected, for God's sack, stop seeing the women. There must be a special room in Hell for those who knowingly pass on STD's.

The hobby is one big germ exchange.

Not a doctor, but using condoms during intercourse has protected me so far, and I'm 5 years in the game.

The odds are favorable low when using condoms for avoiding STD's, but obviously doing all activities  covered will improve your odds.

Bottom line is that you have to take responsibility for your own health and restrict yourself to only those activities that you feel comfortable with.

Yes, yes, very good advice.  Medically I think it's called an ear infuction.

So somebody found some charts for you to show...good for you.

Here are my points:
1 - Singling out a whole race of people on a problem that exists beyond that race may not make you a racist (but it is real fuckin' close, and who's measuring?).

2 - That report isn't 3 pretty (or ugly by my standards) charts...Its like 200 pages.  If you read most of them you'd find that a large number of those tested were done in state institutions...like prison (where AA out number other races). It also mentions that many of the other races are not reported because they have private healthcare, so their results go unreported.

3 - AND MOST IMPORTANTLY in the beginning of the very report you claim is empirical evidence to stay away from Blacks...it says that STDs are an issue because they are rooted in HUMAN BEHAVIOR.  Not the behavior of Blacks, Whites, or other...HUMAN!

You mentioned some of those HUMAN behaviors with your black comment.

If you will notice it never once mentions blacks, whites or any other race. It talks about cheap hotels, pimps, street whores and suggests getting checked for STD's regularly.

The CDC charts that I linked to can give you information for a variety of dates if you could have figured out how to use the drop downs.

Now to your claims that I singled out blacks, here is my only use of the word.

Now if you READ the quote it says that "the statistics" place IV drug users, blacks and those practicing unprotected anal and vaginal sex are always at the top of the statistics." I then ask "WHY?" (I put it in bold in case you missed that) and then went on to say, "Talk to the experts.".

If you can't read that's fine, I won't hold it against you, but if all you can do is try to cause trouble by twisting my words, you can kma.
