I recently found out about the reviewers only board and requested TER for access.  I was denied “due to limited use of TER and the TER discussion boards”.  I thought I check on TER more frequently than I should. I satisfy one of their requirements, having at least 10 reviews. My question is for members of the reviewers only board, is it worth it?  What is frequently discussed on that board that you wouldn’t normally find in the open board?

It is extremely weak.  Nothing is frequently discussed.

then yeah it's weak.I find it's the best board on this site.First not the white knights that are on here & the general disc. board is an  ego train wreck.

I would tend to agree with the view that the ROB is not very helpful.
If anyone at TER is listening then I believe it would be helpful to have the ROB available BY CITY.
No one really wants to wade through all the OTHER CITY clutter to find out what is going on in their city.
I would use it more if it were setup that way.

To the OP, that board is very useful ... it is more
like guys talking to guys without having to
worry about how would a mixed company react to the discussion.
With some exceptions, I find the comments there straight forward,
seem like guys take criticism (on their own views) more openly
... inputs are very helpful. Overall, I found it very useful in a less cluttered way.

But based on my experience don't expect it to be 'leak proof' because some reviewers will frequent the board and report it back to their ATF who's wondering what guys 'really think'

I tend to agree more with the need to have a regional ROB as I rarely travel and I need to know issues specific to this City.  On the other hand, I can see why TER chose to make it general for the following possible reasons. 1- For lack of enough posts that hobbyists want to do discuss with out the need for providers' input (there wont be enough activity on regional boards if that was the case). 2-The issues discussed are more of general than specific to regions thereby saving unnecessary burden to TER moderators.  just a guess!
