I click into it because the link is now a different color signifying that it has been read.  That way I can tell old posts from new posts.

and no i didn't.
always makes me wonder when someone does a eom why it gets reads

Bird, I do the same! It's easier to scan what's been viewed. You see, some of us weirdos, have reasons for doing what we do....sometimes!!

and then not delete the EOM from the subject line of their reply.  So, there actually *is* a message body in the post to be read.

Plus, I do like the other folks - rely on the changed colors to keep track of what I've read and what I haven't.
