proof 1 - 4th and inches against the Saints on your OWN 29 and they go for it and don't make it.

proof 2 and 3 - 4th and short twice-- in an early defensive battle with the Giants in their territory -- guess what.....you kick the field goal both times.....not go for it both times!! ESPECIALLY in a defensive game!! What a fucking moron!! I hope he gets fired !!

The 4th and inches items are at least debatable, especially the first one, though I agree the points should have been slotted in each instance.

Remarkable to me that no one seems to have said anything (TV announcers, AJC coverage after) about the end of the first half. Well over a minute left, 1st and ten from our 20, and somehow the play selection and time management has us heaving a hail mary with two time outs left unused?

Personally, I believe elite coaches and quarterbacks don't happen overnight. It's a lengthy development process (unless, apparently, you are God's QB), and I believe that both Smith and Ryan have the potential of becoming great at what they do. Sunday's display has definitely questioned my patience, however.
