As I mentioned on a previous note I had my annual physical exam last Tuesday. During the physical my doctor discussed the lab work results. Everything turned out to be within the acceptable ranges, including my "T" levels. We discussed how my 20 mg Levitra prescription rarely works. The ole pecker is nothing more than a dust flap (most of the time). My doctor recommended a specialist, a urologist. I will be seeing a urologist that is the head of Urology at UCLA. I will be getting what is called a "Penile Doppler".
Below is a description ... Does anyone have any experience with said procedure? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
PENILE DOPPLERS
A Penile Doppler is a diagnostic procedure using ultrasound to look for the causes of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). The ultrasound performed just before and during a medically stimulated erection allows the Skyline Urology specialist to measure blood flow to the penis in its erect state, and to predict the response of your ED to vasodilator medications. It also allows your Skyline Urologist to determine if you have an “inflow” or “outflow” type of ED, which will further inform the treatment plan to treat your case.
Procedure
The Penile Doppler Ultrasound takes approximately 30 minutes. The patient is asked to lie on an exam table, and then given a medication which dilates the arteries to the penis, increasing blood flow and causing an erection. A penile Doppler ultrasound is performedto look at the blood vessels and flow in the penis.
Side Effects
The Penile Doppler Ultrasound is performed by placing the probe along the outside of the penis, so no pain is involved in that portion of the procedure.
Side effects after the procedure may include:
Minimal discomfort at the site of the injection
A prolonged erection (which may require further treatment to resolve)
Thanks for taking the time to read such a lengthy post
