The question of how to add a photo to a post here on a TER discussion board comes up from time to time, especially by ladies who are relatively new to interacting via TER. These instructions are written for those who have Microsoft Internet Explorer with standard default settings (which most people use) as their browser and have minimal computer skills.
First off, the photo has to be on a web site already. And it will show on the post the same size it is on the web site.
1. Go to the web site that the photo is on. Find the photo on the site. Put the cursor (arrow) on the that photo.
2. Right click with the cursor on the photo. (Right click means click the right button on the mouse, the one that is not normally used. Normal mouse clicking is "left clicking.")
3. A menu window will open up. At the very bottom of this menu window is "Properties." Put the cursor (arrow) on "Properties" and click (normal, that is, left click).
4. A window will pop up. This window shows the properties of that photo. In this window, find "Address (URL):" It will start with "http."
5. Highlight this photo URL. That is, place the curser over the URL, click (left click) and drag the cursor (hold down click bottom while moving the mouse to the right). The highlighting should be in blue. Make sure the entire address is highlighted.
6. With the URL highlighted, place the cursor on the highlighted URL and right click. A menu window will open up.
7. On this menu window, place the cursor on "Copy" and click (left click). This saves the URL in your clipboard.
8. Now, time to do your post with the photo. On a TER discussion board, write a post as you normally do. To put the photo in, go to the bottom of the page and find the box marked "Picture URL." You'll see it has an "http://" already in the box. Place the cursor in that box. (The arrow will turn to a vertical line.)
9. Now, right click. A menu window will open up. In that menu, find "Paste." Place the cursor on "Paste" and click (left click). The photo URL will now be in that box.
10. One more thing. If you highlighted, copied, and pasted the entire photo URL, there will be 2 sets of "http://" in the box. The photo won't post like this. So, you have to delete one of the "http://" so there is only one "http://" at the beginning.
11. That's it. When you click the "post message" for the post, the photo should appear when the message does.
A couple of notes:
Some web sites are "page protected," that is, you won't be able to find the photo address. When you right click on the photos you'll get a message window that says something like "copywrited material" or "copying prohibited." You won't be able to post these photos.
Some sites may allow you to find the photo URL but may prohibit linking to it (which is what you're doing by placing a photo in the post). These sites continuously check for any linking. You may add that photo to your post and it may show on the post at first, but be removed in 5 or 10 minutes.
Unless that post is one of the allowed ads on a local board, posting a photo is considered advertising and can lead to the post being rejected or the person being more severely penalized.
This came up with a provider I know well about a month ago.
Has anything changed since?
But some ladies abuse this privilege.
They make a post all about their pics.
Posting a pic or a link to your post is allowed, when you are "contributing" to a thread.
I know many ladies would love this info.
And I would struggle a bit trying to explain it.
Thank You

I am going to copy and paste this to my local board

Exquisite Tara...Beyond a fantasy
THIS should be posted as an AD once a week on your local board! NOT here on the GD board..
THIS is the abuse were talking about here. None of us are allowed to do this, and you think you are? Follow the rules like all of us do!
Jay
It makes sense to test out the procedure here rather than test it out on her local board. Be nice.
I am being nice, but this is getting ridiculous here!..Let me ask you, How come it's OK for some and not all to do what she's doing and what others do?? So your telling me it's OK to post a picture and an AD here on the GD board knowing full well it shouldn't be here! Be nice you say!! I am nice 99% of the time here, but it gets me, and other providers when this shit happens ...WE have to follow the rules here, and so does everyone else!
Jay
You see an ad. I see a test being done by a new provider on the newbie board (this is not the general discussion board, as you keep saying). The purpose of THIS board is, and always has been, to help newbies, not to chastise them. It is the moderator's call - not yours or mine as to what posts stand. I'll bet he will allow any new provider to test the procedure under this thread. Do you want to bet against me? lol
I'm sure he will let it stand won't he! LOL LOL
Bet against you? this is Vegas now?
Don't turn this around to something it's not!
You know as well as i do imallin this wasn't a "test" LMAO and i have a bridge to sell too!
But hey, you think anything you want..alot of us know better.
You have a wonderful night
Jay
She's not the topic here, and neither is her post or her picture, so stop the white knight act. As a newbie here, like ALL of us were at sometime, she should have read the newbie facts, like ALL of us did ..and she wouldn't have tried this slick move.
and why are you provoking this behavior?
Jay
How about you being naughty, right here, right now and post a sexy pic!!
Remember you can post a comment/opinion to a thread and include your pic.
I think it's a good thing to do once in awhile. Remind us all what makes you so HOT!!
I know you like to play by the rules. And that shows.
Now show and tell!!

Two wrongs don't make a right. I thought with the new "moderation" policy in effect, these types of thing couldn't happen anymore.
I don't think it is a capital offense, but rules are rules, to break them here is to set a very bad precendence for the other boards.
engaged in a discussion board, thread.
It is against the rules to spam your pics every chance you get and post new pics..etc, etc, etc.
I was not advising LadyJay to break the rules. Rather to use the rules as they can be used.
I don't want people to get so hung up on rule breakers...because they would be busy all day and have no fun.

I am with you on this one ... I am relatively newbie here but did notice in last few month at leasr few ladies who whould include their pic in EVERY post on board. It does get somewhat annoying.... especially when one of them was using most unflattering make up in her pics .. horrid ....

Hi Guys,
I'm still kind of new at getting it right. I've been through this a few times trying to figure it out, but the problem I had with the pictures is that originally they didn't let my post up because the actual picture link page didn't have the TER link on it, even though my website where the picture link was on, did. I couldn't figure out how to add the TER link to every picture host page so they won't let me put the picture in from that site. Then my host site put locks in the pictures and I couldn't do it anyway. So I put the pictures on cityvibe hosting. Then they disallowed the picture because it went to another site without the TER logo/link on the page it went to. Any thoughts on this? Has this happened to anyone? It has been a little inconsistent for me and I'm wondering if there is one surefire way to get it right. Finally I just scrapped the whole thing and I just put the link to my site on a weekly post if I do one for that purpose. Is that the best way to handle the problem? I thought having at least one picture was a good thing I've been trying to be careful and not inundate the board and do it once every week or two.
What's your advice?
be nice if more providers linked their website address to their posts. I feel it is customer friendly and always nice to put a face to a name, without having to click on the "See my reviews" link in order to find the website. And no, I am not a customer, however I do enjoy a nice picture and website at times…if the provider intrigues me. xoxo.

God knows we ladies want each and every gentleman to cum back again and again
My vote is to post more pics and especially on the newbie board..Let's keep these new hobbiests happy till they can connect with the real thing..
Why is it wrong for a new lady to find out how to spread her wings here..I like the idea of them trying out their new websites and learning what it will take to go to their local boards and get attention in the right way.
I have seen so many ladies who have started here and move on..It does my heart good to know in some way I might have encouraged or made the move to their local boards easier.
I myself, after almost 2 years on TER posted my first ad about 2 weeks ago.Yes, on the Florida board. I get to post pics many times a week..Under a post today on the General board a gentleman mentioned legs and me HaleyOrlando posted "Got Legs"
I'm over 45 but still hot to trot

I was just posting my first advertisement and having a helluva time trying it out. You've Fisher-Priced this beautifully for me.
It seems only one pic per ad?
