Privacy Policy

The Internet contains a wealth of information. Unfortunately, this can include personal data that you might not want everyone to know, such as your real name, street address, phone number, or e-mail address. Whenever you go online, the sites you visit may be gathering this kind of information without your knowledge. We want to assure you that this is NOT the case at The Erotic Review. We do not engage in any kind of invasion of privacy. In fact, we go the extra mile to protect our members’ anonymity whenever they visit our site.

It is The Erotic Review's policy to respect and protect the privacy of every user. This policy statement explains how we collect some information from you and how we discreetly use it in order to preserve your anonymity. The Internet should be a fun experience for our members, so we want to do all we can to prevent them from feeling hounded or paranoid.

Any information you provide for your personal TER account is shared only with SegPay, our billing service. SegPay has been contracted by The Erotic Review to manage all of our account receivables, and it adheres to the privacy policy we created for this site. The Erotic Review will not disclose your personal information to any third party. We only disclose user information in special cases ¬ primarily if this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the civil rights of TER and/or it’s property, other members, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you're surfing the Web. Web servers -- the big computers that "serve up" Web pages -- automatically identify your computer by its IP address.

The Erotic Review collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, to report aggregate information to our advertisers, and to audit the use of our site. When guests request pages from The Erotic Review, our servers log into their IP addresses. We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that while a user's visitation time can be logged -- the user remains anonymous. However, we can and will use IP addresses to identify any user who has failed to comply with our house rules, terms of service, or to protect customers and others who use this site.

Some services within The Erotic Review, such as certain message boards, may display IP addresses along with the message poster's name, plus a message to the administrators of that board.

IP information is used to track to total number of users who visit a site. This summary information is then shared with advertisers to give them an idea of what type of person visits TER.

TER makes all posted reviews available to its users. Please remember that any information disclosed either in the review section, or on the message boards, becomes public. Our reviews are a compilation of fictional work by the members of TER. Any money that may have changed hands between our members and the escorts was for time and companionship only. Anything else that may have occurred was purely a matter of choice between consenting adults.

This disclaimer is a necessary reminder that using any part of the Internet, including this site, is done at your own risk. The importance of having security measures in place to protect the personal information of our membership is of utmost concern to us. We exercise great care in providing a secure transmission from your PC to our servers. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can ever be guaranteed as a 100% secure. As a result, TER cannot totally ensure or warrant the security of any information you may transmit to, or receive from, us. Still, once we receive your transmission, we put forth our best efforts to ensure its security. For example, when credit card information is transmitted, we use the industry standard, SSL (secure socket layer) encryption to intercept it.

Your TER Review Account password has been protected so that only you may access it in order to view information relevant to your account. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. The Erotic Review will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or email. Still, due to the reasons stated above, you are ultimately responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your own passwords and account information.

Remember to sign out of your TER account and close your browser window when you have finished your visit. This will ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence, especially if your computer is accessible to household members, co-workers, or is publicly shared in a library or cyber café.

This site can and often does supplement certain parts of the information you provide with information received from third parties.

Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. We never save passwords or credit card information in Cookies. Cookies also make Web-surfing easier for you by saving your preferences. The use of Cookies is an industry standard -- you'll find them at most major Web sites.

By showing how and when guests use a site, Cookies help us determine which areas of TER are popular and which are not. Many improvements and updates to the site are based on the data gleaned from them, such as the total number of visitors and pages viewed. We can then use this information to better tailor services to our users’ needs.

The Erotic Review has two primary uses for Cookies: (1) To specify unique preferences. (For example, this way you don't have to type in your user name over and over). (2) We use Cookies to track actions on the site. (For example, voting in the latest poll). Visitors to The Erotic Review always have the option of disabling Cookies via their browser preferences.

If you wish, you can reset your browser to refuse all Cookies or indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, some parts of the The Erotic Review service will not function properly or may be considerably slower if you refuse Cookies. For example, without Cookies, you will not be able to set personalized news preferences or you may have difficulty completing shopping transactions, entering contests, or playing games.
