Is SB/SD legal?

One of my first SB's mentioned that our relationship was legal. I laughed. Any exchange of money for sex is illegal.

But then I started thinking about it. If a cop is going to build a case, where does the SB relationship clearly move into an illegal status?

Many of the SB's ask for a mentor or some business help.  Surely an older man can buy a younger woman dinner. My niece is living proof that older guys give younger women lots of money for purely legit reasons.

I think if you are careful, you can have an SB relationship that may not be 100% legal, but it would be damned hard to prosecute.

If there was a very strong to solid case for prosecution, some DA somewhere in the 50 states would've gone after the site just like they did with CL and BP. Now I can only imagine that SA has been harassed by some prosecutor but I have not read about any such case going to court. Granted that Wayne Enterprises could have a strong legal representation and also that under the 1st Amendment, they are immune from prosecution as they can seek refuge under the guise of mere content provider (that is how Dirty dot com has beaten all prior suits, but that's in the gossip industry) making them immune from the intent of the content!

As for individual cases, per your own post in a down thread it just does not merit the time and the cost LE will have to pour into this unless they go on a crusade to shut down SA. However if they do so, there are many others which will pop up to replace it. Take What's Your Price as an example where they blatantly make monetary offer to go on dates. IMHO, that one would be an easier target for LE as opposed to the "Lifestyle Expectation or Offer" compensation which is even more vague on SA. It is very hard to successfully prosecute under the guise of SD/SB, because a competent attorney can have the case easily dismissed essentially based on laws of attraction. A very good rule to follow is to avoid mentioning $numbers$ during email / PM / text, before an arrangement; but I know that many SDs on here want to know that number before they meet. I am not in such camp!

While advertising and engaging in a sex for money transaction MAY meet the local definition of prostitution, a Sugar Daddy/SugarBabby arrangement, by its defintion, is not prostitution and is perfectly legal

targeted by LE. Just because money changes hands between people having sex does not mean there's prostitution going on. Hell I give my wife money and have sex with her too. They would have to prove that the money is compensation for specific sexual acts before a SD/SB arrangement would fall under the definition of prostitution. Just my $.02, I'm not a lawyer.
