Thanks.I think my favorite regional board is the Atlanta board. It has a mix of advice, ISO, and an occasional warning for both sides, but it also has fun topics like movies, strange requests, pick-up lines, age of ladies men see (but in a way that's interesting, not nasty), sexual dynamics, kissing, and fantasies. It's also a board where most of the guys seem to actually LIKE us. Someone is occasionally cranky, but that isn't the norm.

First of all, anybody that knows Peter knew he was joking around. Second, don't be so thin-skinned. After all, you are operating in an (illegal) business that has a long and rich tradition of slang usage to describe you (I think both hooker and provider are common usage slang terms, as the correct term would be prostitute), your body parts (VJ, pussy, boobs, tits, etc.), the things you do with your customers (BJ, HJ, CG, mish, doggy, Greek, etc.), and even the customers (am I offended being called a "john"? Absolutely not!). So I think you need to get down off of your high horse and not take yourself so seriously. Most of us that make up your customer base are just doing this to have a good time. I think that all prostitutes and hookers are providers, but not all providers are prostitutes and hookers. Anyway, it seems that on other boards people are able to laugh, joke and tease each other without getting offended or upset. But not here for some reason. And it's too bad.
I actually didn't think BPJ meant to be mean; over on the general board some trolls regularly post very derogatory questions to stir the pot, and some of those guys regularly use prostitute or hooker to help increase the offensiveness of their posts.
And by the way, the ATL board isn't perfect, but it doesn't devolve as often as ours does. I think it may take a while before people don't have their hackles up on ours, unfortunately.

If you are going to be in this game (which you chose, nobody forced you into it), you can't get all worked up when someone uses slang in a post that has been around for a hundred years. Are there better words to use sometimes than slang? Yes. But slamming a guy on a humorous post is only going to make you look bad. If you don't see that, then you are in for a disappointing career. Do you want your customers to say, "You have lovely labia that shows no signs of wear and tear, I like the way your clitoris peeks out from its hood, and your skene's gland is really secreting fluid today." Or would you rather hear, "You have a cute pussy that gets really wet." Which is sexier? Sometimes slang is. If a guy gets aroused by the term "hooker" rather than "upscale elite companion," you should let him. When you try to be the PC Nazi here, I, for one, will give you a little grief.
Go in peace.I think that the terms hooker and prostitute have a much more negative connotation in our society than hobbyist or even john. (most people think a hobbyist is someone who builds model airplanes, for example) That's why many providers have such a reflexive negative reaction upon hearing it. Kind of like to a racial slur. Personally, I prefer to use the term working girls. But I have no idea how ladies feel about that one.
I have had many providers use to describe themselves in conversations with me about their work, so it is one I use often in their presence, and no one ever seemed to get bent out of shape over it.
