The symbolism behind the flag is still irrelevant

So according to him it was an "accident".   When shit hit the social media about this comment, his spokeswoman issued a correction that what he meant was an "incident".    This happened on Friday when the whole country and the world knew it was an act of "domestic terrorism".    It was an incident for sure but not an "accident".

What is with this Republican field for 2016 ?   If they cannot understand and say "domestic terrorism", they want us to believe they will be experts in "fixing" international terrorism.

Oops!

He is right when he said "when all the intentions and motives of the mass murderer were known to be racist", denying it was not racism is in itself "RACISM".    Well this includes this jackass from Texas and all the other clowns who are not qualified to mow the lawn in the White House.

Because he is under felony indictment, his concealed carry permit has been suspended by the state and federal law prohibits him from buying new guns or ammo during the indictment period.

You gotta love that – this was a guy who used to carry his pistol around when he went jogging, notwithstanding his security detail.

Who says gun laws don't work? Gov Perry is going down and deservedly so

Come on Mari, I feel like Clubber Lang chasing you around for months while you duck me.

I will admit, I do feel at least a little bit safer knowing that nutjob can't carry a gun. I will grant you that.  I am worried that he might mistake someone like me for a messican and shoot me for looking at him wrong.

but idiots both white and black are the reason I won't give up my guns until you find a way to disarm the criminals and nut jobs first.

Now back to our little bet, don't be scared, how much money are you willing to put behind those brave words you've been posting for these many months?

that they seem to be doing a whole lot more of trying to debunk the fact this was a racial attack,
The news is damn near just a reality show! (especially fox)

As oppose to trying to comfort the people or showing any care to the victims or their family.

I'm getting sick of this it saddens me dearly

And that's MONTHS and MONTHS after it was well established that was all bullshit.

Oh but if God forbid anyone on Fox has doubts about the initial story 10 hours later, or posits another possible motive about the shooting, they are instantly labeled racist. Libs are too funny.

And as we all know the facts that initially come out are always correct, like in Trayvon. LOL

And we all know that the SC church killer got his gun as a birthday gift...dolt!

If CNN’s sources are correct, then the murderer—who was legally prevented from possessing any firearm under both South Carolina and federal laws—was able to buy his handgun through a licensed dealer because the FBI NICS background check database did not have him listed as a prohibited person, despite his February arrest more than 60 days before.

I don't think any gun laws or background checks work in this country.    The previous stories were that he got his gun  as a birthday gift from his father.

Is it just because you hate guns, because you hate America, you hate Americans, or all of the above? Or are you just a retard, pushing for "feel good" legislation that tramples on the rights of law abiding citizens while doing nothing to combat actual crime???

Never mind, I already know the answer.

gee, do you REALLY think he mean "accident" as a way to cover up the domestic terrorism, or the guy with the famous "oops" moment brain fart in the GOP debate might have misspoke and said accident for incident?

OK, the flag could obviously be offensive.
But there seems to be this theory, furthered by mouth foamers like Laffy, that a Confederate battle flag at the state capital is the KEY defining thing that made this happen.  That this couldn't have happened in a state that wasn't a part of the Confederacy, or didn't have a stars and bars on the state house.  The kids apparently like Rhodesian flags too... so I guess if Zimbabwe stopped flying the Rhodesian flag those 9 people would still be alive?... oh, right, they don't already. Hmmm.

Sure, maybe the state shouldn't fly the rebel flag... but like Obama's proposed gun laws, it has nothing to do with this incident.

Could it be that Lefties are wetting themselves with joy that the latest mass shooting by a lone whacko happens to align with the false narrative they constantly push, that there is a huge racial conspiracy threatening blacks with violence by whites and cops, so they need to turn out and vote DEM now!.... except Baltimore is a multigenerational DEM town with black mayor and black police chief and 3 of 6 indicted cops and 1 of 1 indicted for murder were black...  so, thank GOD this last incident took place in a state with a rebel flag on the state capital!  YES, now we can flack the bogus narrative that Klansmen are hiding in the bushes 24/7 for a while!!!

This was a tragedy, and clearly racial, and clearly a type of terrorism (he had political aims).  But also clearly he doesn't represent any broader trend or widespread threat.   Black people do not walk in fear of the klan, there is not a violent conspiracy against blacks in general by whites, and not only are most blacks killed by blacks, but far far more interracial violence is committed by blacks against whites than vice versa.

In 1914, when a Serbian shot the Arch Duke it was a big deal, evidence of real conspiracies and active political movements... if a Serbian shot the Arch Duke's 3rd cousin today, based on a nerd's fascination with early twentieth century Serbian nationalist writings, it would be a bizarre anachronistic event.   So with a lone whacko who's particular internet fetish and excuse for mayhem is an obsession with confederate stuff.

He was holding the flag in his photos and even bragged we needed another civil war.

He also loved the Rhodesian flag it is reported.   Did the Rhodesian flag flying over the courthouse also cause the shooting then?

If the flag was not on the courthouse, would he have abstained?  The Civil War was 150 years ago.. yet it still seems to have motivated the boy while being well removed in history.

Then the confederate flag had nothing to do with the shooting, at least in the sense that silly and cynical lefties like Laffy and Stewart are pushing, that it caused it in some direct way, and we must remove it right now because of the shooting, and we should have expected the shooting because DUH they have a rebel flag.   Of course all states with rebel flags given official status will have regular mass shootings of blacks by neo-confederates!... except they don't.

Just like Obama's proposed gun law changes, it wouldn't have prevented this shooting if done prior to it.

you may have a hard time understanding this, but it is entirely consistent to say something is a bad idea, like a pro choice flag or a gay flag, while also believing it is something that should be up to the state flying it.

You, in your infinite bad faith and straw man way of approaching all things, may have a hard time understanding that it is possible for the rebel flag to both be inappropriate, a symbol the state should not give official sanction, understandably offensive to many blacks and others, AND for it to also not be culpable in any way whatsoever for this massacre.   IF and only if, a pattern could be demonstrated showing elevated risk of similar incidents in states with official use of the rebel flag vs those without could that case be made.  You can't make that case, because this is a bizarre one off incident, not part of a pattern or overall problem.

It is a STATE flag and it's up to the citizens of that state to either keep it or remove it.

Unless you are proposing that we repeal the 10th amendment.

South Carolina is the only state that flies a flag based on the confederate flag, except for this one incident are you suggesting that South Carolina has worse race relations than any of the other 49 states? If so, I'd love to see the evidence.

OK, so now every black person shot anywhere is related to this incident, and South Carolina's state flag is to blame no matter where this took place or by whom.

A guy robs a store, attacks a cop and tries to take his gun, and is shot while not yet armed and with his hands down and charging in Missouri... at least according to the black president's really disappointed black attorney general....
that's because of the South Carolina state flag

A guy is put cuffed on the floor of a paddy wagon by a black cop, and gets his neck broken on purpose by a black cop (according to the black attorney general's charges) in a black city, run by Dems, in one of the most liberal states in the Union, run by Dems... and its because of the South Carolina state flag, the GOP, and the massive Klan presence and Rhodesia fans among black Baltimore cops.

A guy gets put in a choke hold for about 15 seconds, and later dies from coronary complications hours later, on the streets of NYC, and its because of the South Carolina state flag and New York's historic role in the Confederacy.

A large 19 year old attacks a smaller, weaker neighborhood watch volunteer, and sits on his chest punching  him, and gets shot in self defense by the Latino mestizo, in Florida, and its the South Carolina state flag and white rednecks.

A white guy goes to work and shoots his 8 black coworkers for explicitly racist reasons, and another white guy gets on a Long Island commuter train and systematically shoots blacks because he says he hates all black people, and its because of the rebel flag...er oops, that was blacks shooting whites in racist attacks... guess it was that red green black Jamaica flag flying on some statehouse or something?

Remove that rebel flag, and none of those would ever happen.  Remove that flag, everything would be different.   Fly that flag, and it is inherently expected that a racist mass shooting would happen at a black church on a regular basis in any state that so flies it, though the last one was...wait, when was the last one?

That flag may be a symbol for racism.  Period.  Maybe it should come down.
It still has no more relevance here than the flag of Rhodesia, which flies nowhere.
This is just a transparent attempt to resurrect the ghost of the Klan to keep this in the news to keep blacks angry and rioting and the bogus Black Lives Matter Hand Up thing going to help boost base turnout in 2016.

Hey, you said to admit it when you make a mistake.

Ok, I made a mistake. Happy? lol

Alex, can I have state flags for $200 please?

I actually lived in Mississippi for about a year, in Biloxi.

I had one of the most uncomfortable experiences I had ever had down there at dinner one night. I was eating at one of the most famous restaurants in the state set in a house built in the 1700's. All of the waiters were black, not a big surprise, but what actually shocked me was the way they shuffled and would not make direct eye contact, it finally dawned on me that was what the rich locals wanted, they didn't want waiters, they wanted and forgive my language but there is no other way to say it and still get my point across, they wanted "house niggers" I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. I had never seen grown men with a slave mentality in my life, and I wasn't a kid although this was many years ago, this was in the early 90's. I never would have believed that it was still that way anywhere, but that's how it was, and for all I know how it still is.
