I have only had to show a license on one occassion, but it was to a well reviewed provider. I was comfortable showing her the documentation. Normally, I agree, a work phone number should be sufficient.

However, all of this is a judgement call. You have to use common sense as to who you are providing information to. Generally, your initial thought process will be correct. Go with your gut, not with your little head.

I have been out of the hobby for a few years but have recently rejoined and I am in Long Island, NY....I saw a provider on TBD and talked to her on the phone and she said since my previous providers, (mostly out of the business or I cannot reach them), that I have to show my license for the first time to verify myself.  I have no problem giving my work phone and wht not but I have never had to show my lic. in the many years prior..Just want to ensure that I am not being set up.... The provider is new to TBD...but states she is back from a brief time away...I cannot find any reviews on her either....Thanks for the help.....

when you have new or don't have a recent hobby record.  Probably not a problem, but you need to consider your personal risk/reward equation, and go with your gut.

A couple of years ago, I re-entered the hobby.  I set up an appointment while on vacation in Seattle, and provided full info, name, address, and DL number on the form.  When she arrived she asked to see my DL, but only wanted to verify that it was from Arizona, where I said I was from.

Like I said, go with your gut here!!!  She's asked you to reveal yourself, sometimes necessary!!!  Ask her to to do the same.  She was away for awile, and you ncan't find reviews?  Ask her if she went under a different name in the past.  Is there an escort mall on which ther are remnants of her past?

You're probably safe, but the choice is up to you!

No reviews = possible questionable experience.  You might want to reconsider until you "get your sea legs".

Thanks for the advice gentlemen...After some more researching I found some reviews on the ug...that's her home base i guess...will see her next week and review here for you li guys...Thanks again...

From a providers point of view, I would answer your concerns much in the same way that I address most conditions that might be developing stress on your part....…

The Hobby should be an escape from your daily routine and an indulgence. If something about any part of the experience is causing you concern and stress then I advise you to do whatever you need to establish your own level of comfort. While it is important to allow a provider to establish her level of comfort so she has confidence in setting up a meeting with you, your comfort is just as important.

Many hobbyists jump through a series of hoops to arrange the opportunity to meet with a provider and most of the established providers, that I am aware of, recognize and respect this. If you already have growing concerns I would definitely put off the encounter with this specific provider until you have more confidence that the meeting will be what both of you are looking for and everyone involved is aware of the expectations.

Happy hobbying……
