this sounds wierd and useless.  Soap and water do just as well and they don't hurt!  I suppose to get super sanitized, one could douse their genitals in gasoline and commence immolation.  Out of curiosity, I called my doctor (I could barely ask, I was giggling so hard) she said the procedure the OP outlines won't work and to take a shower instead.  There you have it.

**Not to mention, putting betadine on an open sore/cut on a person with a shellfish allergy can instigate an allergic reaction.

Iv'e seen a number of posts having to do with useing isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) after sex to disinfect one privates and hopfully get rid of any possible STD. This is just wrong info!Alcohol not only is very irritaing to sensitive tissue (burns like shit!) but has very limited ability to kill germs and is not effective against a whole host of gram negative and gram positive bacteria and virus'including yeast (candida) which is the most common STD there is. What to do? Go to the drug store and buy a bottle of betadine (a tamed Iodofor) Betadine is use as a surgical scrub prior to operations, kills everything and is not irritaing. Here's the drill. As soon after sex as possible get in the shower and wash with soap and water-this removes any residue and protiens. Dry the area and then saturate the area with betadine. allow to dwell 3 to 5 minutes and wash off. Congradulations-you're sanitized! do this in the shower-betadine is very staining to fabrics.
Good luck and safe sex

Ok..so how do you suggest a "female" use this procedure?

I'm not sure. you could certainly wash  your vulva and surrounding area with it (protection against herpes, yeast and other skin contact STD's) I'm not a doc and don't know about putting it inside-I would think that would'nt be a good idea.  I think that a woman would want to consult a MD about sanitizing procedures

Yeah, I've had providers use alcohol on me, both before and after. It can make you want to jump through the overhead!

They use alcohol wipes in the brothels in Nevada before sex. Told me it's not for sanitizing, but to detect small sores. Told me it will make you flinch if you have any open sores or cuts, even very small ones.

Yes, well I didn't have any open sores or cuts, and it almost brought tears!

Good point, I was told the same thing.

If I felt that more than a prompt & through soap & water shower was necessary...  I'd think twice about going there.

I have used alcohol wipes for medical injections I take...  I agree they burn like crazy on a tiny scratch.
