Man on the moon, Amadeus, Ed Wood
Second tier would be Ray, Walk the line, 8 Mile (Curtis Hanson is a goddamn genius), Leaving Las Vegas, Permanent Midnight I need to see Mommie Dearest again but that may be up there. Almost forgot the Hogan's Hero guy movie.... loved to film himself having sex...It's good but not great. Anyone got any others? I know I'm missing a few...but for god sakes please watch Amadeus. Long live F. Murray Abraham p.s. are my posts getting any more insightful? does it matter? So I'm guessing this is a predominately white male board (sorry ladies), so I thought I would ask. LOL These guys are from LA and I imagine most of you were around here when they were coming up...
Thumbs up on this post if you bought a NWA CD back in the day...

It's worth seeing and yes one of the best films of the year!

I don't care how sexy the ladies are you are fucking.
You better always wrap up your dick and use a condom.
If not you may pay the price in the long run and money or status doesn't mean anything either!

but I hear mixed reviews on the film. Not going until I hear more
I think sometimes people love to come on here and talk out of their ass.
It's a great movie with a hard edge.
If you have their CD then you already know what they are about and will enjoy the movie.
I don't mean reviews from the jokers that are paid by the film companies to review the films that the company makes, Kenneth Turan notwithstanding. I mean reviews from friends who have the seen the film. I work in this industry just like half the people on this LA board. We can market a black screen to a $20 million dollar opening weekend anytime we want. The issue is whether it's worth it. The jury's still out on SOC.
I love how people especially white people always try and put other racical groups into categories.
The movie has hit on all color lines and your friends need to get out of that Hollywood mindset.
The numbers will be out later on today and guess what it goes beyond being just a black screen film.
Just read the write ups on Box Office Mojo, Fandango and Vanity Fair etc.
So I hear what you are saying but that thinking is the thing of the past and Hollywood is slowly catching up now!

I want to apologize if I mislead you. When I said "a black screen," I didn't mean a movie with/about African-Americans. I was just referring to an empty screen with nothing on it. An hour and a half of empty screen can be marketed to a $20 million dollar opening weekend. That's the sentiment I was trying to go for. Sorry if I didn't express it clearly.

I enjoyed Ray, Walk the line and it would be no 8 miles without NWA.
So the other movies you mention were okay but not great.
When you see this new movie come back to me. Lol

Seriously, I was doing some background acting work last year when I went to the Universal Hilton to shoot a couple of scenes.
One, I was in a blue polo shirt near a pool bar, with my back towards the camera, when Eazy-E and his manager were having lunch (30 seconds).
The next scene, I was all business like in the back when the group was coming out of the bus. If you look hard enough and fast enough, you might be able to see my face or side profile (1 second).
The last scene was when Dr. Dre and Ice Cube just visited Eazy-E in the hospital. Ice Cube couldn't take it anymore and went down the hall. If you see a balding guy in a doctor's coat crossing his path, that was me (1 second)!.
Also, when that hospital scene was being set, I think I was standing next to Dr. Dre. Man, I should asked him for some Beatz or something and I could have traded it for a night with some of the lovely ladies on here.
So, ladies, if you want a touch of greatness (ya right!!!), let me know. Maybe we can do some lunch or something. :-P
