Huh?  What caliber of entertainer do you normally spend time with??

Very new to the board. Previous agency woman, thinking of going indy.

Thoughts running through my head:

A. In-call v. Out-call (only)?-- I've always worked out of a hotel, but am really tired of it. I like the comforts of my own place, however, my main concern is security. Driving is not an issue for me.

B. Areas? I have stayed in the BWI area and never ventured elsewhere (at least not in the the DC/MD/VA area) i.e. DC, Tyson's etc? If a hotel is my best option, I would prefer to stay out of the BWI area.

Also, I prefer to stay very low profile.

Sorry for all the questions. Advice?

Thank you

I'm only going to address one aspect of your questions.
Whatever you choose to do, don't do incalls in your home. Many do because of the allure of easy money. However, in many of court cases we've studied, permanent or fixed incall location is a consistent factor in the "things you don't do" equation.

In the end, who you are will be the determining factor in how your business model evolves, who you end up attracting verses who you say you want to attract and the results you generate. Some personality types are suited to being an independent and some not a good idea. If you have borderline personality disorder issues or your a serious Narcissist, probably not a good idea.

There is an old joke in mental health.

" What the worst thing you can do to a Narcissist? Let them have their way and then wait for the inevitable."

Good luck dear in whatever path you choose.

Thank you for the advice.

Prior to AG, I have been IND and have done okay then. Only difference is realizing... "Toto we're not in Kansas anymore". Though, I prefer the later over the prior, for many other reasons other than it being monetary, I understand its' repercussions, hence my apprehension.

I guess, we will see...

Sincerely,
Contemplative....

1. Take any advice provided here carefully, since you will be getting a small sample size of hobbyists form their agenda-driven point-of-view.

2. For me, outcall is only viable when I travel, since I'm married. And my understanding is that a very large percentage of guys are married -- so outcall only will limit your customer base severly.

3. Again, if you only provide from BWI, that limits you mostly to people who live/work near there. The advantage of Tysons/DC is more potential customers; the disadvantage is cost/traffic.

4. I don't know how to start in this business as "low profile" -- the ladies may have better suggestions for that. I do know some providers start out with a website and ads, and build up a regular customer base, then go UTR. Did you have any regular customers during your agency days that you can contact to let them know your indy now?

Good luck and stay safe.

Thanks!

Though my purpose of the post is to seek direction (for lack of a better statement), I anticipated taking certain advice, especially those that are 'agenda-driven', with a grain of salt. Tysons/DC seems to be it. I have a regular customer base with the agency, but they are the agency's clients; not mine (my ethical perception =)...

I agree that the client base is technically the agency's, but most clients make their connection with the provider.  Take a client who has seen you before and would still to see you in future.   Once he learns you have become indy, in all likelihood, any loyalty to the agency would be dwarfed by the desire to see you.   The agency wouldn't have made that impression on the client without your personal interaction with him.  And, I for one, would greatly prefer seeing an indy than an agency girl.

As far as incall vs outcall, I have only had positive experiences with incall, but only in upscale hotels.   Never someone's residence. One hears of far too many risks for the provider in your residence.   If I had known about TER reviews earlier, I would have been able to eliminate my rip-off experiences with outcalls.  And incalls for a married client shouldn't make a difference as long as one remains discreet and stays out of his own neighborhood.   This should not pose a problem in the Metro area.

One caution:  I know of one agency locally that will remove your listing from TER when you leave their employment.   In that case, when you start as an Indy Girl, it appears that you have to build up from scratch.   Not fair, but that's what i've seen happen repetitively.

Also, I've come to automatically read outcall=ripoff.  The provider knows she has the upper hand and there's not much the guy. An realistically do to stop her from leaving with his money.

If you build up enough reviews (which may be tough to do, if you don't have them already), that may lessen the problem.

Most of them are pretty tight, but I've never actually measured their caliber.

I've also never been ripped off, but have read many reviews by those who have, and it's always by an outcall provider.

experience hobbying. I would prefer outcall any day over incall. If the girl has good reviews you have nothing to worry about. You renting a room and getting  girl over hardly attracts LE attention compared to a guy after a guy after another guy visiting the same room.  These hotels have cameras, you know !!

Yes, outcall costs more in most cases, with extra fee charged by the lady plus the hotel room. You can always do outcall at your home, but most hobbyists are married, so unless the SO is out of town, that may not play out too well.

Nothing like rolling over and going back to sleep after she leaves....

to sound authoritative.

I will say that I have zero experience with getting ripped off, encountering LE, or waiting hours for a provider who may NEVER show.

As I indicated, a slew of good reviews will mitigate the stigma of being outcall only.  But... I used to look for reviews for providers who listed outcall only.  So few had reviews (which says something of itself), and so many were awful, that I eventually just started ignoring outcall listings.

Of course, if you work your way back from the good reviews, and you happen to want outcall, I guess you could find them that way.

Still, I've read too many reports by guys who rolled over and went to sleep... While they were waiting for their provider to arrive.

There are pros and cons to both business models, for the provider and the hobbiest alike.

Sorry, if you perceived me as authoritative. I wasn't trying to be at all.

Actually, I was trying to suggest that outcall doesn't necessarily mean RIPOFFs, but you present an interesting argument about OUTCALL ONLY provider. You might be right, but most people, when they look for providers to do OUTCALL, they don't care whether it is OUTCALL only or OUTCALL/INCALL. I certainly have never encountered an OUTCALL ONLY provider, as I always go based on the best scores

And as you point out, as long as she has good reviews there is nothing to worry about...

I apologize for the experience that has framed your mind in this nature. All it takes is a few rotten apples to spoil it for the undiscerning few.

If I were to be your client I would prefer the following:

- I'm an experienced Monger and in the DMV. Hence, I've long stopped that run to BWI. Comparable options in the DMV area (Dupont, Tysons, Dulles, Crystal City, etc)

- I prefer Incall.  Outcall, to me, just wreeks of Scammers and Bait-and-Switch. I've done outcalls but only with known ladies I previously visited with.

- I would think Incall would give you and advantage on your main point of Security in that you control and know the environment.  However, your incall will probably have to your "office" if you can afford it and seperate from your personal living location.  However, again, with proper screening you could do your personal location.  I've seen a many a provider at their personal residence and gave the session a different and "special" positive edge and the ladies, apparently, are more comfortable in their own space.  But a peer in the industry would have to give you feedback on the stalker factor which I would presume would be a viable security concern.  While he may be a nice guy and his references and employment are all valid he may take a shine to you.....and now he knows where you live...for-real.

Touche...

What you've pointed out is the most obvious, but heavily weighted reason to my apprehensions. Then again, one could also argue that there are risks involved regardless of which way, in or out. So long as  contingencies are in place to prevent or mitigate security breaches, as previously mentioned here, or that proper screening is conducted. Then the question, what is "proper" screening, arises. I have seen numerous posts about screening, from intensive processes involving last 4 digits of the SS, full name & employment etc..., to P411, TER, or DateCheck Handles, to provider references.  Regardless, I am a firm believer that no plan (and no screening) is 100% full-proof... As Fravie says, "safety first, second, [and] third!"...

1) low profile and a reg customer base will almost require in call.  IMO.  With that, a nice in call sets a great mood and adds so much to the experience and wanting to repeat (from my point of view)

2) if I provided, I would move around and keep everyone guessing.  I hate going to the same place knowing the door has swung open every  time a hobbyists entered and left.  Especially any mosey neighbors, maids, etc.

3) I don't like going to the meat markets ... Bwi, certain tysons places and dupont cir ... Though the high traffic areas do hide all the ,movement.  I just don't like a place that may be known for certain things.

Regardless, safety first, second, third!

Good luck, you seem to be a few steps ahead of a lot of others!
