This is more proof Romney will win...

If you go back to 1965 and this is the best you got ?!?!?!

LMFAO!!  Looks like Romney is coasting into the White House.

Mitt Romney claims he "forgets" bullying attack
on a (closetted) gay student when Romney was a senior in high school.

When Romney -- as instigator and ringleader -- held a the student down and cut his hair.

Several other students (including some who are today prominent republicans) who witnessed it and took part all remember it clearly - with shame and remorse.

Only Romney claims to "forget".

As if anyone who takes part in something like this ever forgets it.

This morning The Washington Post published a disturbing story about Mitt Romney's high-school days at an elite college preparatory school in Michigan:

Mitt Romney ... spotted something he thought did not belong at a school where the boys wore ties and carried briefcases. John Lauber, a soft-spoken new student one year behind Romney, was perpetually teased for his nonconformity and presumed homosexuality. Now he was walking around the all-boys school with bleached-blond hair that draped over one eye, and Romney wasn't having it.

"He can't look like that. That's wrong. Just look at him!" an incensed Romney told Matthew Friedemann, his close friend in the Stevens Hall dorm, according to Friedemann's recollection. Mitt, the teenaged son of Michigan Gov. George Romney, kept complaining about Lauber's look, Friedemann recalled.

A few days later, Friedemann entered Stevens Hall off the school's collegiate quad to find Romney marching out of his own room ahead of a prep school posse shouting about their plan to cut Lauber's hair. Friedemann followed them to a nearby room where they came upon Lauber, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors.

For me -- and I'd venture to guess I'm not the only one -- the above account of Mitt Romney attacking John Lauber brings back painful memories of the anti-gay bullying I endured when I was in school. My stomach tightened into knots as I read it. Perhaps, though, it was an isolated incident, right? Wrong. The Washington Post piece continues: "In an English class, Gary Hummel, who was a closeted gay student at the time, recalled that his efforts to speak out in class were punctuated with Romney shouting, 'Atta girl!' In the culture of that time and place, that was not entirely out of the norm. Hummel recalled some teachers using similar language."

According to Romney and his campaign, the candidate has no recollection of either incident. But Hummel never forgot the way Mitt Romney teased him for his failure to conform to the gender and sexuality norms of the time. And neither did John Lauber: One of his former bullies, David Seed, ran into Lauber in an airport in the mid-1990s and approached him, apologizing for his role in what happened all those years ago. Lauber told him that the attack was "horrible" and recounted how frightened he felt as it took place, then acknowledged, "It's something I have thought about a lot since then." We'll never know whether those scars ever fully healed for John Lauber; he died in 2004.

The Post's Jason Horowitz spoke to five of Romney's prep school classmates about the Lauber incident. All of them gave similar accounts, completely independently of each other. And, like Seed, all of them feel terrible about it, even decades later. Friedemann noted that the school never punished Romney for what happened and expressed regret that he failed to intercede to stop it. He said that Romney targeted Lauber because "he was just easy pickins." Phillip Maxwell, a childhood friend of Mitt Romney's and a witness to Lauber's attack, called it "vicious" and a "hack job." And Thomas Buford, who admits to having helped Romney hold Lauber down as the governor's son cut his hair, later apologized to the "terrified" man and described the attack as "a senseless, stupid, idiotic thing to do."

As for Mitt Romney himself, the most he could muster was a qualified apology -- not for anti-gay bullying, but for unnamed high school "hijinks and pranks." He declined to comment on the accuracy of his former classmates' allegations, although he did offer a sort of half-hearted, ho-hum defense, telling FOX radio host Brian Kilmeade, "I certainly don't believe that I thought the fellow was homosexual. That was the furthest thing from our minds back in the 1960s." So to hear Mitt Romney tell it, while his memory is completely blank with regard to that specific gay-bashing incident, he does know with absolute certainty that the attack -- which, again, according to him, may or may not have even happened -- was in no way motivated by John Lauber's real or perceived sexual orientation. It couldn't possibly have been; after all, Mitt's mind was completely unsullied by icky things like homosexuality in those halcyon days. Right.

This story disturbs me on a level that goes far deeper than the political. In fact, it isn't political at all. I find it troubling for the same reason that I was so bothered by the now-infamous story about Romney driving to Canada with a crated Irish setter strapped to the roof of his car: You can tell a lot about the content of a person's character by how he or she treats the vulnerable. In the case of Seamus the dog, Romney A) thought, unbelievably, that it was appropriate and/or humane to strap a dog to the roof of a moving vehicle, and B) was so wedded to his rigid itinerary of predetermined rest stops that he sprayed the dog down with a hose in a gas station parking lot after the understandably terrified canine wet itself at an inconvenient time. In the case of Gary Hummel, Romney had no compunction about publicly humiliating a closeted gay man. And then there's John Lauber. The attack he endured scarred him for the remainder of his life and haunts its participants nearly half a century later, but Romney? You know, the "prankster" who pinned a gay man down and came at him with scissors  as he screamed for help because Romney didn't like the way he styled his hair? He claims not to remember that it even happened at all.

Horowitz notes that the Romney presidential campaign has taken to citing the candidate's youthful antics as a way to counteract the public's perception of him as wooden, detached, and aloof. Romney's wife, Ann, whom he met while in prep school, recently said of her husband that "there's a wild and crazy man inside of there just waiting to come out." I, for one, hope it doesn't come out at all. With these disturbing accounts of anti-gay bullying on the part of Mitt Romney and his seemingly indifferent response, I've already seen more of that wild and crazy man than I ever wanted to.

(CNN) -- President Barack Obama said Wednesday he supports same-sex marriage, raising the political stakes on an issue over which Americans are evenly split.

The announcement was the first by a sitting president and put Obama squarely at odds with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who on Wednesday said during an appearance in Oklahoma, "I believe marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman."

Obama said in an interview with ABC News, "At a certain point I've just concluded that for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married."

Obama once opposed such marriages. He later indicated his views were "evolving."

"I had hesitated on gay marriage, in part, because I thought civil unions would be sufficient," the president said. "I was sensitive to the fact that -- for a lot of people -- that the word marriage is something that provokes very powerful traditions and religious beliefs."

study of homophobes shed light on them

Homo Say What? Are homophobes secretly gay?

Are homophobes secretly gay? A new study purports to prove it.

Why have some of the nation's most vehement anti-gay activists—Ted Haggard, Larry Craig—had gay sex scandals of their own? An op-ed in the New York Times' Sunday Review section tries to explain. The authors of the piece, two research psychologists, say they have "empirical evidence that homophobia can result, at least in part, from the suppression of same-sex desire." Their argument—summed up in the Times headline as "Homophobic? Maybe You're Gay"—promises to resolve a long-running debate in the field. For at least 15 years, scientists have been trying to use objective laboratory measures to prove the he-who-smelt-it-dealt-it theory of human sexuality. Has a research team based at the University of Rochester finally done it?

The new study works like an elaborate game of "homo say what?": Evidence of private, homosexual urges is elicited by subtle verbal cues.

The Middle Sex & an Experiment on Homophobia

EXCLUSIVE: HBO to Develop 'Middlesex' as One-Hour Series
Rita Wilson, playwright Donald Margulies exec producing
By Melissa Grego -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/6/2009 7:39:07 PM
HBO has optioned Jeffrey Eugenides' Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Middlesex and is developing a one-hour drama series based on the 2002 book.

Actor-producer Rita Wilson is executive producing, along with the project's writer Donald Margulies.

The working logline for the potential drama series being used internally at HBO is that it "follows the life of Calliope Stephanides and the epic family history that may hold the answer to her complicated sexual identity."

Margulies, known best as a playwright, won a Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for his play Dinner With Friends, which was made into an HBO telefilm.

If the Middlesex drama series follows the book's setting, it would take place largely in Detroit, where the main character grows up. HBO's recent comedy series entry, Hung, is also set in the Detroit area.

HBO declined to comment.

(The Middle Sex & an Experiment on Homophobia)
Psychiatrists from the University of GA, based after the murder of a transgender woman whose killers identified themselves as "not gay," conducted an experiment on several hundred men who identified as 100% heterosexual, and with never having had a same-sex encounter, and claiming never to have ever had a same-sex thought. So, these men were divided into control groups with a loop around their penis that measured their arousal to GAY PORN.

COMES NOW! THE MOVIE: "Outrage" Documentary: Activists Outing Gay Conservatives!

"Outrage," a new documentary from filmmaker Kirby Dick, takes issue with the secret lives of closeted gay politicians -- especially conservative Republicans who outwardly oppose gay rights.

The film, which premiered last week at the Tribeca Film Festival, features tell-alls from men who say they've had relationships with various Republicans, including Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Bush strategist Ken Mehlman and former Senator Larry Craig.

According to Magnolia Pictures, "Outrage" is a "searing indictment of the hypocrisy of closeted politicians with appalling gay rights voting records who actively campaign against the LGBT community they covertly belong to."

In the documentary, Dick lambastes the mainstream media for not better investigating the politicians' "hypocrisy" and double lives. He told New York magazine that the film explores "the issues surrounding closeted politicians and their hypocrisy in voting anti-gay -- and how these people have harmed millions of Americans for many years."

"Outrage" premieres May 8 in five cities, including Washington, D.C.

top-10-anti-gay-neocon republican activists-caught-being-gay

In light of prominent anti-gay activist Pastor Eddie Long recently being caught having sexual relations with men, and proving once again that conservative voters have little to no Gaydar, here's a list of 14 (hence, the update) conservative anti-gay activists who turned out to be gay themselves. NOTE: This list is now 14 items long and will continue to grow as new anti-gay activists come out of the closet, albeit against their will (most of the time.) Keep your eyes peeled for more!

Known as Pastor Ted to his congregation at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ted Haggard was outed by prostitute, and professional masseur, Mike Jones in November 2006 for paying him to engage in sex with him for three years.

He was also purchasing, then using, crystal methamphetamine ("Crystal Meth", for all the kids out there) with his pay-for-play partner.

Haggard had supported Colorado Amendment 43, which bans same-sex marriage in the state.

In his own words, he's not a homosexual, he's just a "heterosexual with issues."

David Dreier is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives who has voted against gay marriage rights, gay legal rights and gay adoption rights and was part of an organization called "Californians for Bush" in 2004.

He's been accused of having sex with members of his staff and even paying his alleged boyfriend a high salary (like any politically-corrupt, good boyfriend should.)

Hypocritical as always, he has since denied any mentions of his homosexuality altogether.

When he almost became the majority leader of the House in 2005, he was denied the position by the most right-wing republicans because they said his views were "too moderate."

When asked if David Dreier was passed over for the job due to his "moderate" views, openly-gay Democratic Congressman Barney Frank told the press "Yes, in the sense that I marched in the moderate pride parade last summer and went to a moderate bar.”

Bruce Barclay, the Republican commissioner of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, is practically the gay p**n star of politics. Due to an allegation of r**e by 20-year-old male Marshall McCurdy, police obtained a warrant to search Barclay's home on March 31st.

They didn't find evidence of r**e.

Instead, they found videotapes of hundreds of sexual encounters with men that Barclay filmed on high-tech surveillance cameras. It was apparent that Barclay and McCurdy had consensual sex.

It was also apparent that his personal Republican stance was not as right-wing as he'd led people to believe.

Spokane Mayor Jim West has worked really hard to debilitate gay rights in his community. He supported a bill to ban gays and lesbians from working in schools, daycare centers, and some state agencies, as well as a bill that bars the state from distributing pamphlets informing people how to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS.

He's proposed that "any touching of the sexual or other intimate parts of a person" among teens be considered a criminal act.

However, for 25 years, West was having sexual relationships with boys and young men from his community and was, before he was caught, frequenting the very incognito website--just to show you his ninja skills--gay.com

All under the covers, of course. He even offered to find boys he'd "befriended" jobs with the city of Spokane in exchange for sex.

Some handcuffs, please. And no, not that kind.

Oh, Mark Foley.

A man formerly in charge of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children (which dealt with legislation protecting Americans against sexual predators, and made stricter guidelines for tracking them) was caught having unlawful internet conversations via IM and email with two former pages (aged 16 and 18... oh, the irony).

Later, two news organizations quoted anonymous former pages saying they had sexual liaisons with Foley after turning 18 and 21.

Foley's answer to this, after all was said and done (through his lawyer), was that he had never "ever had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in his life" and that he is "absolutely, positively not a pedophile".

His lawyer also said that Foley was a victim of sexual assault by an (unnamed) clergyman as a child and that the inappropriate conversations he had with the pages were due to alcoholism. Which is all a pretty convenient way to promote the right-wing "gay = disease" angle while still going down in flames.

His lawyer also stated that Foley is gay, even after Foley described even the thought of early allegations of his homosexuality as "revolting and unforgivable".

Apparently, his homosexuality had been an "open secret" in Washington for years.

Israel using Sexual blackmail on closet gay republican conservative politicians?

so after John David R. Atchison tried to have sex with a five year old on the heels of story of Senator Larry Craig trying to elicit homosexual sex in a men's airport bathroom, which followed the sicko Mark Foley sending sexually explicit e-mails to a 16 year old page boy, describing how the 16 year old cums, and of course let's not forget Governor McGreevey sleeping with an Israeli national, I decided that it is time people take a look at the perverted sexual nature of Bush Administration Syndicate in general for they are one messed up sexually dysfunctional family. Please see this for a better break down of the Evangelists, the flight schools used in 911, the Bushs and Abramoff who arranged trips for congressmen to islands known from sex slavery.

Update add Spitzer to this list

When one understands how deep the Mossad was in 911 and the flight schools and how Atta was spotted on Abramoff casino ships things start to break down with the religious right and how easily blackmailed these men can be with Israel almost literally holding them by the short hairs.

Let's start with Ted Haggard. he was the Holy Roller caught using crystalmeth and sleeping with a male prostitute was George Bush's spiritual adviser and according to a documentary by Richard Dawkins, claimed on tape that he talked to the president about once a week on the phone. Now let's add Karl Rove Karl (mc) Rove was Bush's former Key adviser hired Jeff Gannon a male prostitute through a fake media front they created, Talon News.

Gannon referenced referenced internal government memos regarding the Plame affair before they were public. Remember that one of the leakers in the Plame Affair aside from Libby was Karl Rove. So Two Bush advisers are or cavort with male hookers and his brother Neil was caught with prostitutes in Asia and his brother Jeb flies with drug smugglers and is the brother-in-law to family convicted of rape and the bizzar case of sexual molestation of a baby. What is wrong with these people? Speaking of the other Plame-gate leaker, Lewis Libby, he wrote a book about underage Japanese girls not only being raped by men but also a bear. These private mercenary groups like Blackwater (which Feilding is a lawyer for and Joseph Schmitz is an executive) and Dyncorp have been busted in the targeting of civilians and yes human trafficking. Congress and the Senate continue to grant them money anyway but then again our congressmen and Senators are caught up in plenty of their own pervert sex scandals. Just what do these men DO down at the Grove? Reminds me of the Franklin Credit Union affair.

Remember Mary Kay Letourneau you know the woman who got pregnant after raping her 13 year old student? She is the sister of Joseph E. Schmitz who is a conservative lawyer, former Inspector General of the Department of Defense and executive with Blackwater USA. Her other brother is John P. Schmitz who was George Bush's White House counsel before being replaced by Fred Feilding (now Bush's personal lawyer) who was on the 911 commission and is also a lawyer for Blackwater. Feilding is helping blackewater cover up why 4 of their men were burned and hung on a bridge in Fallujah. The families want to why it happened but Blackwater is not talking. John P. Schmitz was also involved with Iran Contra back when he was an aid for Bush the first, and he refused to testify to the Walsh Commission. What a messed up family.

So we have a rapist, a inspector general who is the executive of a secretive mercenary group and a the former White House counsel who was replaced by a Blackwater lawyer who just so happened to also be on the 911 commission and is George Bush's personal lawyer as well. The Schmitz's father John G. Schmitz was a Senator and congressman from California. He was famous for his right-wing views and occasional racist and homophobic remarks. His public career was ended when it was revealed that he had an affair and fathered two illegitimate children. He got in trouble after his 13 month old son (of his mistress) was found with hair wrapped around his penis. I think that explains why his other legitimate children are so messed up. Just to get in this guys head, he bought the house of his hero Joseph McCarthy (Who I call a modern version of witch trial like fear mentality for the insanely religious).

Jeb Bush married a Mexican woman named Columba. Columba Bush’s sister is married to John P. Schmitz Jeb Bush and John P. Schmitz are brother in laws. John and Joseph were both law clerks. Joseph was a clerk for the Neocon James Buckley the brother of the famous neocon William F. Buckley founder of the Neocon magazine the National Review.

So it is not really shocking given the sexually dysfunctional/criminal background of this hollyroller family that they would be involved with Abramoff and Jeb and Hoffman who are people involved in drug trade, bizzar sex affairs and top Christian evangelist. No one they run a private army that shoot civilians enjoys torture especially sexual torture and make a game out of running cars off the road in Iraq.

NOTE: This list is now 14 items long and will continue to grow as new anti-gay activists come out of the closet, albeit against their will (most of the time.) Keep your eyes peeled for more!

I was born just as a wave of paranoia swept the United States that gay people were a threat to national security. The idea was that gays, forced to stay in the closet and petrified about exposure, could be blackmailed by the country's enemies. Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy-- who employed vicious right-wing closet queen Roy Cohn on his staff-- was more obsessed with gays (almost as much as Santorum or Bachmann or Foxx is today) than he was with Communists.

Today life in the closet is fading; it would fade even faster if conservatives didn't see it as a rich field to mine in terms of demagoguery. Democratic politicians-- from Barney Frank and Kyrsten Sinema to Tammy Baldwin and Ed Potosnak-- can't be blackmailed. They're not in any closets. Whereas Republican politicians when outed are always politically ruined. Today dozens of them-- from Patrick McHenry, Mark Kirk, Aaron Schock and Adrian Smith to Larry Craig, Rick Perry, David Dreier and Lindsey Graham-- are cowering in closets even though it is widely known in Washington that they're obsessed with secret and dangerous, thrilling sex with young men.

In October 2006, Corey Robin reviewed David Johnson's The Lavender Scare: The Cold War Persecution of Gays and Lesbians in the Federal Government in the London Review of Books, a piece he turned into a chapter of his amazing new book, The Reactionary Mind.

[I]n 1950, President Truman’s advisers warned him that ‘the country is more concerned about the charges of homosexuals in the government than about Communists.’ The executive branch responded immediately. That year, the State Department fired ‘perverts’ at the rate of one a day, more than twice the figure for suspected Communists. Charges of homosexuality ultimately accounted for a quarter to a half of all dismissals in the State and Commerce Departments, and in the CIA. Only 25 per cent of Joseph McCarthy’s fan letters complained of ‘red infiltration’; the rest fretted about ‘sex depravity’.

The scare lasted from 1947 to the 1970s, and in The Lavender Scare David Johnson estimates that thousands lost their jobs. The men and women charged with rinsing the pink from the Potomac were astonishingly ignorant about their quarry. Senator Clyde Hoey, head of the first congressional inquiry into the threat, had to ask an aide: ‘Can you please tell me, what can two women possibly do?’ Senator Margaret Chase Smith asked one Hoey Committee witness whether there wasn’t a ‘quick test like an X-ray that discloses these things’.

The official justification for the purge was that homosexuals were vulnerable to blackmail and could be turned into Soviet spies. But as Johnson points out, investigators never found a single instance of this kind of blackmail during the Cold War. The best they could come up with was a dubious case from before the First World War, when the Russians allegedly used the homosexuality of Austria’s top spy to force him to work for them.

The real justification was even more suspect: gays were social misfits whose pathology made them susceptible to Communist indoctrination. Many conservatives also believed that the Communist Party was a movement of and for libertines, and the Soviet Union a haven of free love and open marriage. Gays, they concluded, couldn’t resist this freedom from bourgeois constraint. Drawing parallels with the decline of the Roman Empire, McCarthy regarded homosexuality as a cultural degeneracy that could only weaken the United States. It was, as one tabloid put it, ‘Stalin’s Atom Bomb’

...from the report I read, Romney did bully some kid in prep school. Sounds like typical dumbass jock behavior to me. But I doubt he's gay.

he is obviously as threatened by your sexual preferences, like he is spirituality.. Willy is an egomaniac, all knowing, and omnipotent.. Look how he ALWAYS replies to posts without EVER clicking on links.. ONLY someone who knows everything would do that..

This mans foundation, his very essence is threatened by EVERYTHING.. Including what you do in your bedroom (or hotel).. Liberals like willy tout support for gay marriage and how the right is so hateful for not supporting it, yet they call gays, or transexual loving men every derogatory name in the book.. What a hypocrite..

Trannyboy is the name that GaG gave him. I refused to call him that because it's an offensive term to the LGBT communitiy, but in Trannyboy's case...he's earned the name with his idiotic posts.

Trust me, Space Cadet, I've tried reasoning with him in the past. I even asked him to at the very least not to talk to himself, but he couldn't even manage that. I asked, and asked, and asked. I even begged, all for naught.

So, Trannyboy, he is.
