When I'm shopping for something I want and don't like the price one store charges, I go to another one.  I shop around for the best quality for a fair price.  I do my homework on the quality of the product and price compare.  This seems like a simple thing to do.  What I don't do is call the merchants who are charging more than I want to pay and say nasty things to them.  That just throws more negativity into a world that really doesn't need any more.  For some reason, there are a handful of guys (not the majority) that like to harass girls whose rates don't fit their preference.  Most recently I got:

"I wouldn't pay $50 for you"

"Your too old to charge those rates"

"You're not the real Becca Blossoms"  -  This one is my favorite!!

My response is normally "Go find a girl that you want to pay for" or  "If I couldn't get it, I wouldn't charge it".

What goes through a person's mind when they make the choice to harass a provider over her rates?  What makes them choose to spend their time being so negative towards providers they obviously are never going to see?  Your harassing phones call have absolutely no impact on what I charge and how I handle my business.  In fact, the only thing you're going to do is make me think your an asshole.  

I don't call my local Store and complain about the prices that are more than I want to pay.  I don't call a restaurant and complain to them that they charge too much.  Why do some feel it's perfectly acceptable to do this to a provider.  Wouldn't it serve these guys better to move on to a lady in a price range that they prefer?

I guess I wouldn't spend my time complaining about what I can't afford and harassing others over it.  I prefer to enjoy what I do have and what I can afford.

Sadly no enforceable law nor peer pressure nor common sense requires these persons to state up front that they are unhappy with themselves and want to share it with you.  

If someone isn't someone's cup of tea, so be it. The only reason to badger someone is to attempt to feel good about yourself. Let's hope their weenie is a heck of a lot larger than their minds/maturity level.

Unfortunately, Becca, we have become a very loud, obnoxious, and rude society.  Grace has disappeared.  I think it's easier for people to be critical and mean spirited than it is to smile.  Look at our current crop of politicians.  They are a reflection of us!  Forty years ago people would have held their tongue.

Logic would dictate that the men making those comments would simply look elsewhere and not bother.  But then logic has evaporated as well.

Btw.  While I would definitely pay those rates if I could!  You have a perfect mix of age and beauty.  Perhaps that's the rub.  They really see it, too!

Recently went into a car dealer and fell in love with this beautiful red Testarossa. I looked at the salesman and said no way I'm paying that price and made him a lowball answer. Low and behold I got it for the price of a ford escort.  
In my dreams lol.

There are not many gentlemen left. As others and yourself have stated it is becoming typical that if you do not get what you want you complain.  As you go thru life you will meet many a** holes just  realize what they are and move on.  You are not going to change them.  No matter what our business or job you will meet them.

Really? They figure it's like buying a car. You don't pay list for most cars. Heaven knows they're going to bargain over this as well.

Does it make it right? Yes and no. The rudeness portion is over the top. One gal I almost met wanted $400/hr. But wouldn't do Y. Unfortunately I decided for that I could go get well reviewed girl X who did Y, and for $300/hr. I didn't try to align the first gal, but I did say the other girl advertised as doing Y for the lesser price (both were well reviewed area providers) so I was going to see her, have a nice day.

Not like they were that different in looks / age either. Same basic height, weight, hair color, and other physical dimensions.

The rudeness? That's just not called for IMHO. Maybe let the girl know you think it's over the top considering X, but being rude isn't going to change anything. I don't like rude people myself, so I don't take what they say too seriously.

If someone doesn't see me because of my rates, I don't get upset.  None of us can please everyone.  I don't see a reason to be rude or disrespectful.  I've had some very nice gentlemen tell me I'm out of their price range.  They were respectful and I was respectful back.  You're absolutely right, it's the rudeness that just isn't necessary.

People don't treat others with respect anymore.

Like others have stated it is lost in this world.

People would rather be cynical and smart asses.  It is easier to put someone or something down than to say a kind word.    This is the sad state we are in as a society.   I mean opening a door for someone seems like a far stretch for some people.

Here is an example of something I read the other day.  It was on a Massage Parlor review site.

The man who wrote the review said in it... "i pounded away at her and she kept saying too big and hurting me.... well I pounded away even harder.   If you can't take it shouldn't be in the business"...

It is shit like that that pisses me off.   Just because people are in the business doesn't mean you can treat them like crap.   Or like in your case try to low ball or try to bargin.   People are just assholes or we run into more assholes that used too.

I hope things change and you don't have to deal with these guys.

That is just very disturbing! He would of got his balls kicked! "Treat  people as you want to be treated, plain and simple". This is a big problem in this buisness, providers are not standing up for themselves and taking action against jerks. If these men who treat providers less than human are allowed to carry on and behave like that with one provider, they think they can get away with it with the next and then that provider doesn't speak up, he moves on to the next provider continuing the same behaviour. And now there is a pattern of wreck less behaviour and this jerk feels like it's ok and acceptable to treat providers like this. People will only do and say things that they are allowed to do and say.  Stop the cycle before it starts. I am fortunate to have very charming and genourous suitors over the course of my adventures in the buisness. I will say that in the beginning I was haggled, but back then I only knew of backpage as an outlet to advertise and let's just say that the people viewing backpage our typically newbies, 15 year olds, pimps, cops, rapers and low ballers. (No not all but a great deal). I have met some amazing men from backpage but I did have tons of b.s calls. A lot the newbies did not know how to talk to a provider or how they should act or feel and I had to teach them how to go about all of this in the most gentlemanly way possible and still be themselves and have fun. Once I found out about t.e.r and started utilizing this site and stopped using backpage, all those b.s calls and emails seemed to be non existent. I think gentlemen that use this site and other highly rated sites tend to read the regional boards, and they can get a feel of how things are done and how they should behave. Becca your an awesome lady and your worth 10 times more then you charge in my opinion! Gentlemen haggling is not ever ok, if you can only afford 150 then look for a provider in that price range! It is super annoying and only sends providers red flags about you, even if you've gotten away with it in the past and it has worked for you then. "DO NOT DO IT". It just annoys providers extremely and is a quick way to get blacklisted.

Mine are about the same and I get the same crap. I do get guys in Appleton trying to bargain over my rates than any other city-a lot feel over $200/hour is too much to pay. Wish they would just move on and see someone in their price range-no need to be rude about it or try to haggle!

he does it with me(to no avail), and i've been with him when he tries it on others. Once while buying cheap furniture from a Craigs list seller, he offered the guy half what they'd originally agreed to. I was along to load the stuff. When I saw the seller's reaction (red face w/scowl ) i simply got in the truck and prepared to call 911. I thought a fight was about to happen. Instead of beating the shit out of my brother, he shut off the lights and closed the garage door.
