Hello Ladies and Gents!
I'm planning to visit from the Boston area in early to mid May with my girlfriend and we are in the process of generating some interest and asking for a bit of advice about the area. There are obviously many points of interest and we are looking at where to stay and places to eat etc. If anyone would be kind enough to pm me with suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I've been thinking about BWI but want to be able to accessible as well and have considered Dulles area, I'm just unsure how far everything is and where all the great dining and such is.

Xo,
Grace

Hello Grace and thank you in advance for wanting to come to the Baltimore Washington area.

While BWI and Dulles may only be 30-40 miles apart, the drive is NEVER fun.  While their are great attractions in Baltimore and Washington, you may want to schedule two trips (or at least break your visit into 2 hotels...a BWI hotel and a DC/Dulles hotel).

Baltimore has it's Inner Harbor and historic landmarks with Little Italy and other great Zagat rated restaurants.

Washington has it's new National Harbor and even more attractions like the Smithsonian's and even better restaurants.

I will be happy to provide specific names of restaurants if you would like, just post back.

Jim

Thank you for that tid bit!
I can see renting a car and splitting the trip into two areas would probably be a good idea, either that or sp,it it into two trips. I am certainly curious about restaurants as well. This is going to be fun!

I have lived in the area my entire life and if you let me know what kind of food (seafood vs. steak) or (Italian vs. Cuban) and a price range, I can recommend eateries for you.  Yes, Zagat's does that, but these places are where the locals eat to find the best under published cuisines.

Safe travels sexy.

Well,
My very own tour guide! You crack me up with the Zagats references, I keep thinking of the old SNL skits! I love the local places, I'm not a fan of chain restaurants. I love seafood, steak, all American, sushi, a great burger, organic finds, and a moderate price range. I enjoy a nice upscale meal out waterside if I someone to share it with. However, I also love then going in the opposite direction and having a great bite to eat, or a beer in a little dive place that is just fun. When I travel I want to go where the locals go.

Grace
