I was hoping you would come to DC...have a great experience and return soon. I am sorry you had to change your plans due to cancellations. That seems to be the reality of DC these days. At least you were able to act before you invested in travel and hotel expenses.  I was to be in NYC on the dates you were to be here which was disapointing since I've been wanting to meet you.  Perhaps another day...another city.
