We have to eat and wear clothes in order to work. Your investment insights were interesting. The thing is, providers are not buying stocks. Many of us are feeding our babies and teenagers, without the help of another breadwinner. And I suppose you watch the news. I suppose you know what unemployment is like right now. Have you any idea of what our reality is? Try to be sensitive to that.
Before you suggest that we may be overpaid, may I respectfully suggest that you try to make a living doing this for a month (and feed your kids on it). Then come back and tell me if you still think we make too much.

6) Only Way to make money has been stocks....and most of USA is afraid to touch them outside of 401k & IRA. And the money makers invest themselves cause fees from advisors or fund managers eat up a lot of profits.
7) strongest dollar in years...more buying power. But bad for exports to grow the economy
8) large pizza at little Caesars is $5 and a two topping large at Pizza Hut is $7.99....crazy low.
9) cheaper cellphone prices if you go sprint or tmobile....and even cheaper with a mvno.

Granted ladies can charge anything they want...because it's about a gentlemans will to pay. However, There is no rhyme nor reason for increases to me. You have lady's and agencies increasing by $20-$25 for same services and I doubt demand has drove the prices higher. Screams collusion in some cases!!!
In my mind average price should be $250 per hr FS. Private View girls at $100 30mins and $180 1hr.

Forgive me, I am not sure if this is a serious post or meant to be funny. In either case, it still had me lol through some parts of your post.
It's because I have no malicious intent. I use humor like a stand-up comic to make an observation on something that has me puzzled. However It's legit, All facts. I mean eggs did go up a $1 due to bird flu...but expenses have not increased for hobbyist nor escort in the in a long time. Low crude price = lower gas and lower HVAC cost.
Cost of living is lowest in some time, but there is stagnant wages and low bond income....it's a buyers market in every othe facet of life. Providers profit margins (wages) are increasing all while they have more money in their pockets due to the economy. The whole hobby moves like a commodity instead of individual providers. Hence, it seems like collusion as most girls are not undercutting each other for same services. Prices seem artificially inflated across the board because it's not reflective of the economy.
But it doesn't matter because dudes don't work together and let the hobby be a sellers (providers) market. I ultimately blame guys in the hobby for not balancing out the market. Dudes got a little extra change due to lower crude prices.... and forget providers have the same extra change. Wages for the guys would need to increase to justify provider's wage(profit margin) increases ceteris paribus
The supply of providers is down and the demand for their services is up. You could try seeing the civie ladies on the side, they even want money sometimes (hair done, groceries etc, cell phone, car) etc. Adds up pretty quick. One way you will pay for it nothing is free. Learn about technical analysis and fundamental analysis and trade stocks. This year all my hobby and sugar babe funding comes from my pit (pussy investment trust) money that I made in capital gains from mutual funds last year and stock trading this year.
Providers in the long run are a better bargin imho. They are more available and you have the option of variety.

And Actually, you just validated one of my points. S&P 500 or individual stocks have been the only way to combat stagnant wages.... Besides the few lottery winners that deal with penny stocks and derivatives. Maybe cause I'm on the younger side like the providers...but people distrust the stock market and think it's rigged now in days (I disagree). But with phony Twitter news coming out the other day about them seeking an investment bank for acquisition... and subsequently the price driving up so unscrupulous people could sell for profit adds to the general mistrust of the markets as a SEC investigation has been triggered.
In my time in the Hobby (since 2001), I would observe that supply has gone up. I would only argue that the QUALITY of suppliers has gone down. Now of course I have not and will not take the time to quantify this but just my general observation.
BUT MOST IMPORTANT; the providers could give a shit about all the salient economic data you note. They based their fees on the amount of bills they have due and how many guys they can get to commit at the highest price point they can charge.
what the ladies are asking, they have no reason to lower their fees. Change will only come if/when a lady puts up an ad asking $ 450 & gets no business. So either pay or don't play; grousing about it in posts like this does nothing to change the simple economics.
I guess the hobby is an anomaly like apple. All other profit margins from luxury goods have decreased. The hobby seems like a utility (a need for men) more than an economic sensitive luxury good

Granted it may be a business move, but we see 50cent struggling right now. so everyone regardless of income can't just pay any price for goods & services. Lots of people are one bad investment away from struggling especially if it's business ownership or property ownership.

Hobbyist have the same expenses as we ain't robots, lol. I'm talking about balance....most people claim they are regular dudes so stagnant wages should apply. But I can't let you slide of gas as it was trading at $100 per barrel last year and its $50per barrel as US production has drove down prices.

Ummmm as much as I luv sex, I personally don't want to handle that much dick! LOL! Besides, I feel like I have paid my dues to the hobby and was priced way lower when I started. Something I noticed some newbie don't need to do now but hey if they can get their money I am not mad at that! For one appointment, to book an incall, I am still taking home at least half of the donation. Subtract hair, nails, lingerie, gas, and other miscellaneous and it is almost depressing. I do enjoy the hobby and discount certain time slots I enjoy entertaining, but this may not be for me in the full time capacity for much longer.
DC is not the area for the discussion of this. With the cost of rent and tourism being so high, yeah no, hobby prices are going to demand a luxury premium and this is not a necessity. A lot of guys just put up with the SB or civvie dramas when they want to be cheap. LOL!

Yes, love the appts, but there is more to the job than just the fun! As Sexy Jaye describes so well, there is a lot of prep AND expenses. Just the time spent marketing and screening!
I think sometimes my mechanic can fix my car pretty quickly, and I respect that, because he has the experience and training to do the job right. Maybe he loves his job. Maybe it's fun for him. Maybe when he wakes up in the morning, this is what he would rather do than anything else. Does that mean I pay him less, no. He is entitled to compensation accordingly. I need a car that runs and he is the guy who can do it.

I'm under the assumption most people save up the money like a vacation for some fun...unless they are unicorn 2%ers if you will. And Government has had wage freezes for a long while which is the dominate business. Jobs come and go and the biggest stable jobs are Uber and Air B&B...freelance is the only guaranteed jobs.
SB are not cheap. In addition to financial resources they require lots of attention like a wife lol.
I don't actually notice any inflation when I look at equivalent providers and services. Visiting providers booked through agencies such as Flawless, etc., cost $300-$350 per hour, about the same as what a provider booked through Miami Companions cost 13-14 years ago.
There are lower options if you are strapped for cash...bp morning specials or quickies at 80.

Why is that?: because upper middle class and rich white guys like you and I have been doing great over the past five years. I'm happy for the established professionals. But plenty of ladies in the hobby which are the same age as me are expressing the millennial complaint, but quite a few make more than the average millennial trying to get out of mamas basement, lol.
But when prices do not decrease in a zero interest rate environment and a low gas price environment I wonder what the rates are based upon. If it's simple supply and demand fair enough....but I figured demand is lower that pre 2008 when the economy was booming before people defaulted on their $750,000 town homes as people believed the lie that house values always rise instead of it being willingness for someone to pay

Maybe the average hobbyist is well removed from the new reality...but they are probably the same fools nickling and diming me on Egyptian cotton sheets outside metro stations nor buying my DVDs when I'm posted outside the grocery store 
Each lady is free to price as she wishes based on her desire for volume - i don't think debating that has any impact. Some of the best experiences i have had have been at ultra premium price levels, while other greatvexperiences have been at exceptionally low prices. Most new providers start at lower prices, and if they get great reviews they raise their price because the market will bear it. I only pay premium prices when a provider is well established and has great reviews, but often you can find great prices if you look for newer providers who are trying to get established. And if you have a good rapport and hit it off well together, premiummpriced providers may grandfather you in at lower rates because they value the steady stream of income from a dependable regular over the risk and uncertainty of someone new. I don't fault The Palm or Ruth Chris because they charge a high price - i just only go when my budget affords it and i want the premium experience they provide. Often i dine at McDonalds or Applebees because i want a decemt meal or a quick meal, but i never expect The Palm to lower their price even though often of late they seem to have a lot of empty tables.
I will say if the standard hourly rate were to get over$500, I would quit
This is a interesting thread! I agree that it really boils down to supply & demand, costs of doing business, and the nature of the US laws. I think Canada and Texas and Atlanta seem to be cheaper and one could move there Luckily, I travel to Germany and Zurich, where prices are amazing and the quality is much much better than US. In Zurich for example, I can get get a runway model escort for less than US$280, and Germany is even cheaper at US$100/hr. Another interesting observation from this thread, when I talk to fellow mongers during travel, the hobby seems to be viewed as a regular thing to do (like going to a gym), not something that is exclusive or luxury item as it seems to be perceived in the US.
