Has anyone seen there work productivity fall, I know I now find myself constantly looking at the boards. I go back to work and sure enough I find myself looking to see what responses occurred. How long did it take you guys to lose interest in the boards and go back to using it simply as a tool

In addition to TER open (although I don't post as much as I used to...) I almost always have TV running, and my dog jumping on me (he is awesome). Not to mention the work itself involves lot of people pinging me repeatedly for stuff they need me to answer.

I hardly notice any loss in productivity.

That being said, if you are a doctor operating on patients, I would advise against checking your TER while operating on patients..lol....

At that point, you may find yourself just scouting the boards for trainwrecks, or at the very least, the draw of novelty will be gone.

This may be an addiction problem Nicky.

Don't fall into that trap.

I like your handle too.

with one of the fine ladies here. Treat them like the special gems they are and stay off TER when you are out to dinner with her. Don't be "that guy" who can't stay off TER when you are with a pretty lady.

"That guy"...

Are people actually so obsessed with the boards that they can't enjoy a nice hot meal (with or w/o company) not looking at the smart phones?

I guess all press is not necessarily good press.

that even a date with a dream girl, fancy restaurant wasn't enough. It's was just too tempting to read what was being said and get upset instead of leaving it all behind..

My advice to the OP is don't be "that guy".

That Guy

If they put my favorite food in front of me, I would forget even talking with the date......and boards and board drama would be the last thing on my mind...

in a previous (TER) life, I can assure that even when I was one of the top 5 or 10 posters on the DC board, I never ever thought about the boards when I was with a lady or a meal.
