END OF MESSAGE

I'm getting a strange vibe from a guy who has called me three times.  I've explained politely about screening, twice before.  He calls at odd hours (like 6 in the morning! or midnight) and wants a same day which I don' t do for clients I have not seen and I have told him that, and he hasn't completed any of my screening requirements and seems surprised when I say that it is needed. This is the third time this summer.  It was annoying the first 2 times but now I am weirded out little.

No one can be quite this dense and I'm wondering if he really is a potential client, or what?!?

I guess I would like to know -- a. How does one handle these kinds of calls?  I've blocked the number but I wonder if I am doing something wrong here and b. Why would someone do this?  Am I just being paranoid in thinking maybe it is not a client, after all? Should I be worried?  Or let it go?

Feeling lucky that this is the only weird-ness I have yet had to deal with, but....Arrgh! :)

Women's intuition and all that.  From the client side, sometimes guys can get obsessed with a woman - sometimes harmless, sometimes not.  We're hunters, not gatherers, so can get a bit focused - like watching a football game.

There is another provider on this board that I admire, she sticks to her guns, and her rules are her rules.  If they don't follow your rules now, who says they will follow your rules when they show up as a client

Look, calling a lady at those odd hours is not a good sign this guy has normal perspectives on society and customs. Neither does his not submitting any screening info. He's probably nothing more than a lurker and timewaster, but you should ignore him. He should go away if he doesn't get a response. BTW, LE would have dropped it after the first attempt failed.
Just my 0.02

I agree with what was said here. If he were a serious client he would provide the necessary info.
I wouldn't answer any more of his calls.

I had someone I had never met do the same thing to me.  I think he called himself mike.. .its been a while....but he didn't want to email or text which I ask for since its easier to send a quick message out then be on the phone when home in the "real world".   He would call all the time and want to chat and try to set up appt but never give me any info. But every day he'd call and is text back please email me I'm at home and don't answer my phone unless I need to, expecting a call due to an email convo and arranged time, or I'm on tour.  Still called everyday...finally stopped but it was weird...I think a friend of his called when they were drunk once and that was the last straw for me cause his friend was increadably rude and I finally just went off....I do not appreciate guys who do not respect your guidelines or personal space...we need discretion too!  And we are still ladies!  So if he isn't respecting you ignore him he isn't worth the stress or your safety....
Be safe and have fun!  After all that is what this is all about!

Cheers

Probably a trolling teenager/college kid. A real hobbyist wouldn't do that.

internet is accessible to everyone. College just started....frats have initiations....so i'd expect more. Pranks calls like that happen. drunk dials happen.

When I was in college.....Prank calls to pro women ads, info-mercials, etc happened when bored and drunk, hahaha.

e NQ Mobile Call Blocker for android phones, found it quite useful  In my case, for telemarketers that keep ringing my damn phone  Its been awesome.  Does more than just block calls, too.

I use email only, for this reason. When I listed my phone years ago- I used to get the jokers & late night tokers who were just wasting my time or were unsafe people.

If you are not already, get a burner phone (pay as you go, work-only phone) or a Google voice number.
You can have it forward to voicemail at certain hours...and change your voicemail which lists the required pre-screening, and your hours of availability, and that calls will be returned during those hours.

On your ads and website you can list your "hours of operation" ex: 9am ~ 9pm....
Then simply do not answer calls that come in the hours you're not working.
Setting up parameters like that really helps streamline your business.
Someone who won't read, and doesn't follow direct instruction just isn't worth your time.
