I have not participated in the hobby for a couple of years due to accusations by my SO (I pulled the Shaggy defense "It wasn't me!")
I finally got an opportunity to scratch my itch again and tried to set up an appointment with a local provider with great reviews. I had to jump through many hoops to get the time and right excuses for my absence and the provider was a no-show!
I can understand that things happen. I can understand that maybe her Spidy senses tingled and she wanted to back out. I can understand that she just didn't want to provide service for me. I have done this long enough that I don't take any of that personally.
What I don't understand is leaving a client hanging with no word at all. Nothing. No explanation. No apology. Just silence. I think that is just plain unprofessional.
Is there anyplace to find out if that type of behavior is common for a particular provider? I get rare opportunities to participate in the hobby these days and want to make the best of them and don't want to waste my time again.
I wonder if the level of professionalism is related to the appointment compensation requirement. It seemed a little low, but since the reviews were so glowing didn't think about it much.
I am thinking that it is a sign that I need to stay on the sidelines.

This is the place to let folks know about ncns (no call no show). This behavior is pretty common these days. You can search this board and Maryland board to see how often it happens.
The provider was Nikki Banks.
Last I heard from her was about 5:00pm saying she was 2 hours away. I was actually concerned and texted the next morning to make sure she was okay. Now if I find out that she had an accident and is in the hospital I will feel bad!
Sometimes people get pulled over for all types of things expired registration, lights out, windows to darkly tented, etc. Then a search is done for drugs and warrant (not showing up for a court case) database checked. If there is a problem with drugs or outstanding warrant to the slammer the person goes. Sometimes bond can be as high as $5000 for court issues related to expired registration when you don't show up for court. When one gets a ticket they need to pay it right away or make sure they show up for court.
You are absolutely right. It happens to the ladies just as much as it does the gentlemen. It's very unfortunate and disrespectful. I am sometimes amazed on how some men seem to find the time to contact me seeking some time to visit with me and goes through the whole screening process but don't take the same consideration and time to at least pick up the phone and cancel. The same thing can be said when a gentlemen contacts a lady or fills out her contact form but never hear back from her. I am sure the gentlemen is probably wondering if she got your email or she is just ignoring you. I ALWAYS write back to anyone who contacts me seeking to spend time with me. Even if I feel that we are not compatible, I do respond within a short amount of time. The only exception is if they are disrespectful in their initial email to me.

Oscar, she seems to have good reviews. Have you had any further contact? You might want to give her another chance and see if she'll try to make it up to you either with a discount or extra time. Might be worth a try after all she has a reputation to uphold. I once was stood up by very highly reviewed provider who was visiting. When I went to the appointment I saw her exiting the hotel with someone else about 10 minutes after our appointment time. When I contacted her next day she apologized profusely and invited me to meet with her for a 4 hour entirely gratis. I overcame my wounded pride and had a memorable experience. She turned me every which way but loose. It turned out we had a good friend in common who we called in the middle of our session. You never can tell. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Did you actually have an appointment set up or did you request one and she just never got back to you? A NCNS would be a confirmed date and time and location and then nothing. An ignored request is just her not answering your email. Difference.
Some things that go on that will get you ignored for sure when setting up an appointment is a sense of entitlement or indecisiveness. Fine line to cross for either, but of the gals I chat with and I know for myself, time wasting is not something we want to entertain for any promised amount of cash. Being a jerk and demanding an appointment without following screening protocol or not following up with info we asked for or suggesting a rate or appointment type that she doesn't offer is entitlement. Emailing endlessly saying let's meet maybe for a couple of hours or just aimlessly asking when are you free or just sending hi I'd love to meet you is indecisiveness. Silence is often the result.
If she is visiting, she may not have the time to get to all requests if she is in appointments or booked previously. All of us are "busy" so having a couple of days to get to emails is the norm. I know you mentioned it had been a while, but don't let one provider spoil it all for you. Takes some patience and always keep your options open. For guys with small play time windows, they often like the ease of agencies v. indys. But with so many options and outlets in the hobby, you will find what works it's just a matter of not taking it personally and moving on swiftly when things aren't clicking. GOOD LUCK!
I do not miss it. As the matter of fact the hobby as well as TER have seriously taken a turn for the worse. I will give my observations as to why
1) The TER local forum has become a ISO Board and anything other than petty trivialities gets removed.
2) I don't mind paying for quality and have a good income but the cost of playing has gone up to ridiculous levels. Average providers with mediocre reviews demanding premium prices and pretty girls with good reviews demanding pornstar prices. No thanks I would rather spend the $1000+ on a real pornstar.
3) The growth of SD/SB sites and hookup apps make things way more convenient. Less red tape and last minute availibility.
4) Even at its best the hobby had its flaws like NSNS, getting busted, white knight reviewers bloating the review numbers, the occasional ripoff and waiting in the car for 1/2 hour after the scheduled start of the session awaiting the room text.

I know what you are saying about #3. Sometimes on repeat dates with SB you only have to buy them lunch for fun. You have to be careful though. One is now saying she is my girlfriend, lol.

I was 22 when I moved to DC area for a job, and stayed back here. I first hobby experience in DC was a handjob @ $350, back in early 2000s. She was just one step above a RIPOFF. If I would have gotten discouraged by first bad experience, I would have lasted exactly 1 appointment in the business.
You are going to have to just dust yourself off, pick yourself up, and move on to the next gal. There are plenty of great professional ladies out there who don't do this kind of stuff.
Getting the rug pulled out from under you at the lobby or in the parking lot of the hotel is a rite of passage in the hobby world. In hindsight one laughs about such things but in the heat of the moment it's really an unpleasant experience. The hormones are raging, and the body is quivering with anticipation for what is to cum. It's a big letdown when your phone is calling for the room number and there is no answer. You drove a 45 minute trip for nothing.
Those with sufficient experience will immediately dial the number of a favorite provider or agency that accepts last minute appointments. The perpetrator is punished with a refusal to ever attempt another appointment with her.
I have always sought independent providers thinking that it is safer LE wise and I NEVER try to hookup at the last minute anymore. Did that once and I realized that the small head does not make prudent decisions! I don't participate in the hobby enough to have a local go-to provider.
I will try again in a few weeks now that I have been able to vent.
only to independents, its wise to keep a short list of a few providers who can entertain you on a short notice.
Some providers do see repeat clients or even new guys on a very short notice.

Dont let one inconsiderate provider put a damper on your hobbying... There are too many wonderful providers out there who would gladly assist you in making a "CUM" BACK..... Lifes too fabulous to fret over the little crap.....

You may have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a princess. The bad news is, you got all cranked up for an exciting hour and then stood up, but the good news is when you look in your wallet there are still three hundred bananas in there.
I always thought that the best part of an assignation was the anticipation. The worst part was looking at yourself in the rear-view mirror and admitting that it just wasn't that great and that you just spent the equivalent of a case of pretty-good Cabernet Savignon on a mediocre 45 minute gabfest ending in a 120 second tension relief.
When you do find a princess, go back again and again. Get to meet her friends in the hobby. Go to a M&G, and meet all the visiting and local ladies. Pretty soon you will have a whole list of princesses you can rely on.
