Go back home this weekend (Philly), can anyone tell me about things to do in the area for the 4th of July?
I have no plans this weekend so far.

Since the 4th of July weekend is a weekend away....

...I would suggest looking into the Smithsonian and the Kennedy Center.  The FolkLife Festival is also on the Mall and should be fun.

I definitely considering Smithsonian but party time sounds good. I can't even remember last time I went out. Seems that I am always buried in books

Have you been to Old Town Alexandria?

It's fun during the day (walking around, window shopping) and night (some great bars & restaurants)
