Good!  Just as it should be.

Sorry that the deaths of so many innocent American people interrupted your day.  Asshole.

You don't even know what I've done today.

I know one thing you did today.  You posted a mean-spirited comment on an otherwise kind, thoughtful, and meaningful thread.

So keep hiding behind your (well named) alias.  I don't want to know what you did today.  I wouldn't believe a word of it coming from an alias anyway.

Peace!  Betty

Very well put Betty..and your inclusion of the alias poster comment..Right on the money..Im pretty much of the opinion if the poster uses an alias, Im taking it as a sign he from a lesser God.
The lame excuse about candid honest remarks is just BS. It says a lot about them as human beings (i.e. spineless).
Thank you again for your very sincere genuine thoughts. I'll always remember what I was doing that day as the plane flew over me.

Some people are just IGNORANT, DISRESPECTFUL and UNCARING towards others!
They need to create a "Delete the Dumbass" button!!

This is a day to say "Thank You" to those who are Fighting for our Freedoms and keeping us Safe!
Its a Day to Remember the lives that were lost and to be thankful that we are here to see another day!
May God Bless our Troops, Keep them Safe and Bring them Home!!

Thank you all for your comments.  I appreciate them all very much.

Sswede, Thanks babe.  I am with you regarding the over use of aliases on this board too.  I remember exactly what I was doing that day.

AZZtronomicalAZZ, Whew!  I love a lady who speaks her mind!  LOL  I love what you wrote about today being a day to say thank you to those who are fighting for our freedom.  Really nice.

yourDCmuse, LMAO!  He might like a 4" heel up his ass!  ha ha!  I think the day itself is a memorial day of sorts.  It has been for me since it happened.  At the same time I think people are trying to focus on the good things that came out of it so it can be celebrated as an anniversary too.  But I totally get what you are saying.  Just trying to spin it to justify the terminology.

Cara, I have heard this too.  I have family and friends in NY and NJ who have mixed feelings about the new site.  But I think they are doing a wonderful job of memorializing the original location. While at the same time they are building an amazing skyscraper befitting it.

Pattaya729, That's the part we all need to be reminded of.  Your comment says it all.  Thank you for your service to our country.  You are appreciated!

I just can't say this enough today....God Bless America!

I think someone got a nice 4 inch stiletto shoved up their ass for being an ass...LOL! Damn....LOL!

I remember EXACTLY where I was on 9/11/2001.  What started like a "normal day" all changed for me 9:20am while I was in A&P. The professor came into the class and informed us that we need to report to our fire stations. We( my station) were suppose to go to NYC, but Alexandria was chosen over us. What a long day that was.

I'm just glad to see some healing occurring over the travesty. CNN has had some AWSOME programs. Time Magazine has a collection of 9/11 documentaries that are worth watching.

Let's heal, people, but never forget.

First of all, on the 10th anniversary of a day when over a  thousand people died so violently, and hundreds of thousand more as a consequence, the original post contains a quote advocating violence. That is mean-spirited.

Then I posted something so obvious that you would agree. I turn on the TV, turn on the radio, open a newspaper, pick up a news magazine from my mailbox, check the news on the Internet, and I see 9/11. I don't need to allocate a moment to remember 9/11. For the last 10 years, I think about it all the time; I don't need an arbitrary day to be bombarded with memories of 9/11/2001 when, on that day, CNN bombarded us continuously with the image of the plane hitting the twin tower.

As a response, you post an hate-filled rant. Who is mean-spirited?

I am glad I posted with an alias, I was not expecting such hate.

There seems to be a mixed response to the new site. Many NYers feel it should have been rebuilt to look the same with adding even more floors. Some seem to like the differences and the added remembrances..
I can see both sides. Rebuilding them the same to put back exactly what was taken away. Not letting them win in ay way....Disregarding the terrorist and what they attempted to steal. Then again, how could it ever be the same again anyway? With all the lives lost, maybe its better to have a skyline that represents exactly what WAS lost....

Listen you jackass. 3000 people died that day. thousand more fine people have died fighting the scum that did this. I have spent years of my life over there since then. You are the scum of the earth. May you rot in hell!!!!!

I know feelings about 911 are running high but, its possible that this persons post was misunderstood. He might have meant that he doesnt need to take a moment because he is surrounded by these memories because of what he does for a living. I obviously dont know who this is or if I am right but its possible.

I appreciate what you're saying.  I tried to look at it that way myself.  Then I took a look at his other posts.  After reading them (link below), I'm not buying into this being a simple misunderstanding.  He has a habit of being sarcastic.  This time it bit him in the ass.  I'm sticking with my original response.

No matter how you twist it, he was wrong to post with such rudeness and sarcasm.  He should have stayed off of this thread if he did not have anything nice to say.

Is that it's been 10 whole years since it happened. I remember that day as clearly as I remember yesterday, whereas 10 years seemed to fly by like a season. Also, it boggles my mind that there is a whole generation who has grown up and 9/11 is all they know, where as most of use can remember a day when 9/11 never existed.

Isn't that crazy?

I feel dated.....LOL! So old....LOL!

The one issue I have is that the Media keeps referring it as the "Anniversary of 9/11".
To me, an anniversary is something you celebrate. I refuse to celebrate a day where so many people perished. I'm not the one for that.
I treat 9/11 like Memorial day, a day of remembrance and reflection.
Just my 2 cents.

As someone who lives in NC, I watched the TV in horror as the day unfolded in 2001. I can only imagine what it must have felt like to go thru this living in/near NYC, DC or PA where United 98 went down.

My heart goes out to the families and friends of all those that perished.

xoxo,

Steph

I was at the Hooters in Chanilly VA to watch The Skins game this afternoon. The place was packed. When the national athem ended The whole place just stood up and clapped without a word. I cried. God bless this place we live! Pattaya

People were selfless that day.  They hugged and comforted complete strangers.  People went out of their way to help each other.  This horrible event brought brought us together as a nation.  I think it made us stronger as a nation.  It breaks my heart that this tragedy ever occured.  But I will take the good things I can from it to honor the people who lost their lives that fateful day.

The one documentary I watched (link is below) said that the water evacuation effort was the largest water evacuation ever in the history of the United States.  All it took was a radio call from the Coast Guard asking for anyone with a boat to please help.  And help they did.  Everyone who had a boat, and was able, headed for Manhattan Island to help.  These brave boaters headed towards Manhattan without regard for their own safety.  They evacuated nearly 500,000 people.  Actions like this make me even prouder to be an American.  I am proud of my country and the good people in it.

So I will mourn on 9/11 each year as I have done since it happened.  At the same time, I will celebrate the good it brought out in so many of us.

God Bless America.
