So, last weekend i was trying to set up an appointment with a fairly well known provider who's been around for awhile.  I even went so far as to get screened.  As it turned out we were never able to find a time that worked for both of us.

So, tonight after work I receive an email from this provider's account, (it's theoretical that it had been hacked).  The email basically said that she was out of the country for a few days and had run into an issue and had her wallet stolen.  So, she needed some money to get a ticket back to the US.

Now, I know that this is a very well known scam.  However, I was curious if anyone else received the same email?

Ironically, I logged on tonight to see that this provider will be back in the area in the next few days.

Curious.  PM me if you've had a similar experience.

Just did a once-over around the boards.  Looks like a few other providers had the same issue.

Good idea.  I shall ignore it.

I get that scam email frequently...from civi's who have had their accounts hacked as well as Providers.

Alert the lady so she knows.

it is like having a constantly changing password.

you can install an app on your mobile phone or have it send you a text.

every now and then when you login, it will ask for the second stage verificatiom code.

cant beat this.

I agree, no better way than to change the password every so often.
