Tyson's traffic

I mentioned in an earlier ad that I was in town visiting from Boston and that I'd be making regular trips down here. I also noted that I was looking for ladies who were hosting in DC proper. Now that I'm here and I was looking, it seemed like 7/10 ladies were hosting in th Tyson's/Dulles corridor. So I bit the bullet and decided to try and see someone down there since the pickings in the city seemed slim (for incalls at least).

Now I'm a very confident driver. Never been in an accident. When friends want to go on long drives or drive their moving truck, they call me. Driving from DC to Tyson's nearly gave me a panic attack (and I haven't had one of those in maybe 15 years) I almost threw my GPS out the window and cursed the engineers who designed that monstrosity of a web of roads. Do people actually live there? If so, why? This experience was enough to make me consider giving up driving altogether. If my ATF was giving it away for free at 3 in the morning with no traffic, I probably still wouldn't go out there.

Needless to say, I'm keeping it strictly District for the remainder if this trip and all future trips.

Having lived and worked in the area for many years, I can relate to the frustration. The reverse trip isn't any better and parking in DC is another nightmare, even if you can find a parking garage that isn't full.  I live and work in NOVA and won't see ladies in DC for that reason.  Have I lost out on some potentially great experiences - yes, but that's my choice.

I can vouch that driving in Boston sucks, driving to Tyson's is exponentially worse.  But damn, some of these ladies are SO worth it....take a cab.

Traffic and parking is very easy getting to National Harbor or am I wrong.

Parking is plentiful and reasonable.  Just out of curiosity would incall in National Harbor be easier for people who live in NOVA?

Thanks

Imagine many of us having to commute through that torturious road, filled with idiot drivers and left-lane hoggers to make it extra worse!!!

I think National Harbor hotel rates are pretty high.  Most providers want to keep it reasonable I think.  That is also why I like the Springfield area.  I'm surprised more providers don't hit Rt 1 near the beltway with the new nice hotels there.  Good parking, easy access and hardly any competition.

Nope.

Then grab a cab to any hotel in Tysons.  Much easier on the nerves.

I live up by Tyson's and agree that traffic is a nightmare. I occasionally see ladies in DC but give myself plenty of time to get there and back (3 hours round trip for an hour appt)
Just the price of doing business. Hopefully things will improve when the metro at Tyson's opens later this year.

Not at all. Now you are at the the mercy of The Beltway going to and coming back. I wouldn't even consider it.

Neighborhoods around National Harbor and National Harbor are not the safest.

I work in DC, but I can usually get into Tyson's in like 25-30 min

You're right, there's not much action there.  It's just across the bridge from me.  Hotels are expensive there.  A provider told me that she looked into staying there, but the Gaylord was charging $300+ a night.  Whereas, Tyson's was under a $100 a night.

Have no intentions of doing it anytime in the future!

Many who know me, know that I'm a born and raised Marylander. Moved to Austin 5 years ago, and visit the NoVa area monthly.  Even when I lived there, I wouldn't go to Tyson's!  I've been navigating downtown DC and the NoVa area for years. I've found myself in some of the worst parts of town, and they don't bother near as much as just the thought of going to Tysons.

I'll drive my tiney hiney from fairfax into downtown DC/Baltimore any day. But Tyson's?....forget about it!  It just isn't worth the hell.

I never understood the draw to that area.  I think it's the shopping perspective. Thats the only reason I can imagine a woman wanting to stay there. And if you have time to shop, you arent doing it right ....lol

And I don't imagine it's anymore cost effective than staying anywhere else in NoVa.

And I have to admit, Your signature has me cracking up ....now that song will be stuck in my head.

Alisha ....xoxo

To and from DC to Tyson's works reasonably well in the middle of the day (my experience is about the same as yours). However, if either end of the trip is in a rush hour period, it can be much, much worse, and also very unpredictable.

Let the cabbie take the aggravation of Tysons!

I refuse to drive to Tysons, and I live in DC (which some of you think is equally or more worse)!

i've never been to boston, but it can't be that bad. i've done ny plenty of times, manhatten, brooklyn, queens etc. whatever i don't care much for those places.. it is easier to commute in ny via subway, but in wdc/nova/md area, cars are the best way. i hate metro and the skeezers that ride it. i swear every time i ride metro i get sick. you people would be surprised what kinds of dirtbag fuckers ride the trains.

driving? tysons corner? after the completion of the douche lanes its much better now. i don't know how your gps was guiding you but from DC to tysons its either a straight shot on 66 or the GW parkway. i drive all over md/va and dc and its not that bad. rush hour is shit because obviously people are commuting from home to work vice versa, but non rush hours its a breeze.

noobs should take the cab if you're in an unfamiliar area, but to bitch and moan about how horrible it is because of one trip... eh thats jumping to conclusions.

i think DC is shit. i hate driving to see a provider in DC. parking sucks, you have to look out for parking enforcement, you have to look out for the street parking signs, you have to think about where you're parking so you don't get your $85,000 mercedes dinged, scratched or demolished from street parking, or worse have some shitty foreigner that was probably running in his homeland barefoot valet park your $85,000 mercedes into a wall or structural beam etc.

come on. there are pluses and minuses to commuting. lets calm down, keep it moving. plus why use a gps when you have google maps?

Supposed to be opened, to Tyson's, sometime this year. Don't know when.
For now, Metro to W. Falls Church, then cab.

I am from the area and it does not bother me. Plus there are times you can fly from DC to Tysons and the other way around. ;-)
