Had my favorite go-to keycard-less hassle-free hotel for years. Now they require a key card for the elevators... any recommendation for my next favorite hotel? I'd really appreciate it.

What's wrong with meeting your visitor in the lobby and escorting her upstairs?

Why must something be wrong? I try to set the room nicely and prefer opening the door to meet my provider, just as I prefer having food delivered as opposed to picking it up myself.
