True but not very useful advice...

So a lovely indy young lady I saw recently, early twenties, said she isn't able to make as many trips to DC as she'd like because her she recently moved back to her home town near her parents and they're asking questions about why she's going out of town so much (she had said it was to visit friends) and where's she's getting so much money.  She's worried they're getting suspicious.  She plans to move a ways away when her lease expires in a few months, but in the meantime she's wondering what sort of a cover story other girls have used to avoid their friends or family members guessing that they might be escorting . . . .  Any advice for this lovely sweet young lady would be much appreciated by both her and me!

Is this a full time job for her?  What does she tell her parents she does for a living?

Things I have seen ladies use to explain travel:

--A part time job doing web design/training/consulting/etc. for a company in City X, and they pay for the travel

--Being hired by a hotel company (Marriott, etc.,) to be a "secret shopper" and report on the hotel's service, cleanliness, etc.  Same for a restaurant chain that is afraid locals get made and the evaluations become tainted.  I do know people who have really done this for Holliday Inn and for a big restaurant chain

--Depending upon what she is trained to do, anything that can sound like an expert wittness hired for court testimony, or in non-trial legal briefs

--Interior design work where she has to go to the home/office, they cannot bring it to her obviously

--Job interview (cannot over do)

--Potential boyfriend (again, varies with her relationship with parents, and eventually "it didn't work out)

Hope something works out.

should already have a cover story ready for each possible  surprise.  Just saying...

You are making me blush dear lady!

I have tried to see you on my trip to DC, but it was one of your traveling weeks.  My loss, but I will certainly try again on my next trip.

Stay safe pretty lady.

Great theory.

Women who decide to enter this business often are doing so under significant stress from their lives.  And often becase their financial situation changed abruptly and they need a solution quickly lest they get evicted, etc.

Calmly thinking through all sorts of possibilities then have yet to encounter is a great idea, just not very useful.  That is probably whay the guy asked for useful suggestions, not just being told is friend is an ill prepaired airhead.

then chances are they already suspect she's escorting.  If she isn't doing this full time, I would suggest she not travel out to DC for a while then try returning.

But if escorting is where she earns majority of her income.  if I were her, I would have a website made, then post ad on eros, and other websites saying you'll be in town friday and saturday only, and only taking prebooked appointments. If she has enough clients booked, then she should make the trip, and try to be back home with in 48hours, to not draw attention to her absence. While gone just make it seem as if you're busy working, and since its a friday, and saturday they'll expect her to be out busy doing other things anyway.
