Trafficking

A while ago a provider I knew was worried that the operator of a small UTR agency who arranged her appointments might become abusive.  I thought she might qualify as a victim of trafficking and help put the guy out of business.  With her permission I contacted a senior person at DOJ who headed an anti-trafficking unit.  She was sympathetic, promised the provider immunity and some protection if she would agree to testify against the operator.  The provider agonized but rejected the deal -- she was afraid to testify in open court and worried that the operator, who was an American with a law degree, would take reprisals, and she feared for her kids.  So that was that.  But eventually she took her story to one of the private agencies that help women in fixes like that, and they got her to another city under a new name and even a work visa.  Bottom line:  it's never easy, but if there are plausible suspicions of trafficking there are LE people who are sympathetic, will offer help and try to offer protection.  The LE person I contacted was not interested in who I was or how I came to know the provider -- she just wanted to put a trafficker out of business.

I was listening to the subject program and the discussion was the current legislation discussion on Trafficking and the growing sentiment to attack it from the buyer side as they have been doing in countries such as Sweden with apparent good results.

With that said, I'm sure none of my TER buddies are knowingly supporting "trafficked" ladies.  I know I look for signs of pimps, "handlers," etc. and their involvment in the transaction.  And I avoid like the plaque!!

Hence, I guess I'm thinking out loud as to the ripple effect/s of this pending legislation on willing, consenting adults?  Will there be some unintended consequences on the hobbyist community.

I agree that the vast majority here on TER do not willingly support trafficking, and it makes me wonder what we could do to police this problem in our own community.  If we were to use the TER boards to make known to eachother suspected trafficking groups, then wouldn't the hobby community be a safer place (and perhaps reduce the chances of new legislation that could have ripple effects into the consensual hobby community)?

to understand the issue or to care about their accuracy in response. They want votes, and "trafficking" is a great buzzword for them these days. A recent discussion is linked, and there have been others.

Been in the hobby for a while so when I hear people say here on TER most don't support traffickers is pure BS. Look at most active members to some of the least active and read their reviews. You will find rarely one that has only visited so called independent providers. if you ever been with an agency girl you have supported traffickers and that is a fact.

if you ever been with Asian (right off the boat) providers who you know don't speak enough english to be able to schedule appointments and send emails and such...  you have supported traffickers ..

if you ever been with a provider who is younger than 21 and met with her in a hotel, you have supported a trafficker since no one under 21 can get a hotel room on their own!

so lets be clear being 'pure' in this hobby is simply not doable. We love pussy and ass and apparently its illegal to pay for it .. that is that..

Handlers / Agencies / Schedulers are not necessarily traffickers. Yes, trafficking by definition is dealing in something illegal, which technically, yes, the hobby is illegal and we are all participating... HUMAN trafficking, on other hand (which is what we're talking about here), refers to FORCED prostitution, which pretty much all of the hobbyists and providers that I know personally and on this board would agree is completely vile and revolting.

Now, is real human trafficking a very real and serious issue that society and LE need to address??... Abso-fucking-lutely. However, to imply that we HAVE ALL supported trafficking b/c we have used a K-girl agency where they did not speak English well-- or any agency for that matter-- or booked a hotel for someone over the age of 18 but under the age of 21 is just a plain fucking dumb statement. I resent that implication and you have absolutely no evidence to support your assertion whatsoever.

I saw a provider today who works for an agency part-time while getting her PhD. This girl was sexy as hell and smarter than 5 of you put together. By your narrow definition, she was being "trafficked" b/c she works for an agency, when in reality she is a really nice girl and consenting adult who is making a conscious choice to escort.

I think Tall's intent in posting this (and I agree with him) was to point out that we in the higher end of the hobby are being unfairly lumped in with scumbags who are pimping and forcing girls into sexual slavery and prostitution. I think we should ALL try to find as a community to support Gina's post from the other day to stop unfair discrimination of sex workers and decriminalize the hobby.

As for the assertion that I, or the rest of the hobby community, blindly supports "trafficking"... you need to check yo self before you wreck yo self, fool.
