Maybe its just my luck but I have noticed a marked increase in fake provider photos in the DC/NVA area.  Now, I am not surprised by a little airbrush work or creative angles, but these are completely different, way, way less attractive providers.  Sometimes not even the same ethnicity as the photos. This used to be more common on the lower-rent Asian websites but now it seems to be everywhere.  I understand lightly doctored photos, but when you are expecting a solid nine and a marginal four opens the door, WTF?  Why do they bother?  That's a deal breaker right there. It just wastes everybody's time.  Do they think you're gonna go "Oh well, I am already here so I might as well go ahead."  Nope.  Thank God TER is back!!!  

I'm absolutely with you about walking away if the person who opens the door isn't even close to the depiction in the ad. But, using your example of a "4," if even a few guys say "WTF, I'm here already," then she probably has more revenue than if she had posted real pics in the first place. There are no consumer protection laws for the hobby and it truly is caveat emptor. BTW, I've even seen this type of complaint about some ads on higher end sites, like Eros. So it's not just a low end phenomenon. I'm also happy TER is back because that helps bring back accountability in such cases.

It’s bad enough when the pics are 20 years or 40 lbs off, but getting completely catfished is another thing altogether. There’s another review site which many of us used that got flooded with tons of fake profiles with no reviews right when TER came back up for us. A large number of reviews on it were fake as well, and they were happy to keep them for the sake of numbers I have to assume.

I wish it weren't true, because for every time a spineless or tasteless jellyfish "goes ahead" regardless of how badly he's been misled you can  count on that very same ROB doing it to at least another 20 guys. So anyone who is not part of the solution is actually part of the problem.

 
I honestly don't know what can be done to fix the problem of spineless or tasteless men, but it's a big problem although hardly a new one. BTW I do agree that the Asian agencies and the Brazilians before them always seemed to get a pass on this kind of thing. I do understand why in this day and age of facial rec and ICE enforcement why immigrants legal and otherwise would choose not to post their "Real pics" but that certainly doesn't excuse pics of a "9" when it's a "4" who answers the door.  

 
I can only control my own actions, but speaking for myself I will 100% walk out the door without leaving a single cent in "cancellation" money if I feel like I have been lied to, I can only hope that more other guys will do the same.

Zero impulse control; no Plan B (or C or D); no research skills to develop a decent plan; no alternative time slot available for an extended period of time; pure desperation; and, harking back to my subject line, sheer stupidity. I'm sure others can add to this list but just wanted to get the ball rolling. Fake or misleading pics are unfortunately an established business model designed to prey on those with more money than brains. Like a lot of fraud schemes, it's a head-shaking moment when you hear about them because you invariably say "How could anyone be so stupid/gullible/etc?" And yet, they continue to proliferate and the internet has just increased their reach. For the very worst cases, it's almost like the hobby equivalent of the (hopefully, non-lethal) Darwin Awards.
