I'm new to the hobby and have a question about tipping. Is a tip over and above the rate generally expected? Is there a standard? In a restaurant I'm typically 20% plus just for normal service, but go higher for excellent service. Just trying to understand how I should be thinking about this. Want to make sure that I don't inadvertently offend someone that I'd really like to see again because I thought the rate was the rate. And please don't beat me up about the Newbie board. This one is much more fun
Waiters get paid half the minimum wage, they make their living via tips. Escorts set their own prices and keep all of it if they're indy; they keep a set percentage if they're with an agency. Of course they also have set expenses (hotel, etc).
While some may tip, I only do occasionally, usually for something extra and beyond expectations. You can also bring the lady a gift, check her website to see what she likes. Otherwise, if I really like the experience, I either ask to extend the time or I book another appointment. I have never had a quality lady treat me less well on a repeat visit than on the first, even if I never tipped. So I think the answer is clear: tips are not necessary. Though I'm sure they are never refused
It is a nice gesture towards the lady if you enjoyed the session, it is just a great way to provide positive feedback and to let her know that she aimed to deliver a excellent experience. Tips can range anywhere from 20% to an extra $100, it all depends, there are no really set standards unlike with restaurants. In my case, I allocate a special shoebox for my tips so I can buy my books the next semester, I'm sure each lady has a different goal/purpose for their tips.
Tips are never expected but I am sure they are appreciated. I guess it's just another way of letting the escort know you had a great time. I have met gentlemen that actually include a tip with the donation at the start of the date.
Some men don't tip even though they enjoyed the time with the escort. I think most escorts would agree that the biggest tip is a return visit. Personally, my lowest tip so far is $20 and highest $120. Guess I am doing something right!
Is there any other industry where the provider of services sets their own rates and then you offer ahead of time to pay more than that? Of course not. Nor do you pay extra 99.999999% of the time after services are rendered in any other industry where tipping isnt standard, like a restaurant. If you claim you do, how much did you tip after your last doctor visit? Legal consultation? Driveway repaving? Pest removal? Do you leave a weekly tip for your mail carrier?
If you are tipping ahead of time you arent really tipping. You are overpaying hoping for better or preferred services or an expanded menu. If you are tipping after services are rendered you are paying for preferential treatment later. Or you foolishly believe that tipping in either instance makes the lady really like you.
I have always believed that tips are appropriate for "employees", who may make a wage, but do not share in the profits of a business. However, it is foolish and self-defeating to tip an "owner", who already has the power to set his/her price and captures all the profits.
If one applies that to the hobby, then it is only natural to tip agency gals, who may get less than 50% of the rate you pay, but unwise to tip independent escorts, who already control entirely their own pricing power.
I love the way you think Sloane! Are there any particular groups that you feel do the best job in allocating & distributing the donations? I prefer those that maintain a low overhead so a higher percentage goes the actual cause.
I love this as well. Off topic, I once went to a kid's birthday party where the parents asked for gift cards instead of presents. The cards were then donated to charity by the kid. Thought that was really nice.
All companions will agree, that your repeat business is the best. I love being spoiled and surprised, I am always in shock and so grateful for the tips when I receive them.
My donation is given up front, and sometimes the tip will already have been included, sometimes upon leaving without verbal exchange (because it feels tacky to the gent) they have counted out and left the tip on a table or under the envelope w/ donation in it. I have received tips ranging from $40 to $700 (which was incredible, and in neither case expected)
