This raises an interesting question

Hello all,

I've been an occasional hobbyist for about 4 years, and see a provider about once every 2 months. I have posted a couple of reviews. My last encounter was late-September with a well reviewed, highly regarded traveling provider. During our session, with her on top, there was extended genital-to-genital contact prior to application of the cover - rubbing, etc. - of the type that many other reviewers have mentioned, with the penis just rubbing against the clit or p lips.

About two weeks ago a small bump appeared on my scrotum, and 3 days ago it erupted into a painful sore, and a doctor visit yesterday confirmed that I have herpes. I had not been with any other provider in that time period, and I sure didn't get it from my wife.

So just a word of caution to the guys out there to be careful. Because who knows how many else in DC are going through this from just this one provider. And in all likelihood, she had no idea that she's a carrier.

Omaha.....

If you have any sense of decency and responsibility, you will let us know who this lady is. Why allow your brother hobbiests exposed to a continuing risk.

Have you been in touch with her? Does she now know she has Herpes??

Seems to me not to do much good to reveal your problem just for the sake of letting us know. Who is it man? I'll even take a Private Message on this one!!! Thanks.

Yeah...thanks for the warning. The only way your post would be of help is if you mention the lady. But then of course she would deny it and make accusations about you being a disgrunteled client.  I feel bad for the ladies you have bothered to review. Even though you said your encounter was Sept I imagine some will worry about anyone you have seen.  I am sorry you have contracted Herpes..really, I am. But please contact the lady you suspect...and consider posting a review on her. As is your post really does little but create tension and doubt.

In the hobby people should not have any genital to genital contact without protection. One out of 5 people have been infected with genital herpes in the U.S; but most people don't know it.

HSV is generally transmitted by direct contact of lips or genitals when the sores are present, or also when no sores are present (known as viral shedding).

There is no cure for herpes. But treatment to reduce outbreaks of herpes is available with antivirals  such as Valtrex and the cream Abreva for oral herpes.

Herpevac, a vaccine for HSV-2 is currently (as of February 2007) undergoing clinical testing in women in the United States and Canada. Previous studies have determined that this vaccine is approximately 70% effective in women, but does not prevent the disease in men.

What makes you so sure you didn't get it from your wife?

Not to throw a wet blanket on the "give up her name crowd," but maybe the best lesson to take from this is not the provider's name but the knowledge that you need to be careful because you never know what you can catch even during non-penetrative activities.  According to all of the published materials I have seen, MOST people who have herpes have no idea they have it.  Something to think about during the next BB[fill in the blank].

Some very nice points made...

Christian said it best,

the best lesson to take from this is not the provider's name but the knowledge that you need to be careful because you never know what you can catch even during non-penetrative activities

THAT is the point, not bitching about the lady and airing her out or feeling sorry about the ladies the guy has seen.... its a very real reminder that there are serious risks involved, its posts like these that force everyone to get real- all of us know how easy is can be to get caught in the moment and do something we know is risky.....  whats scary is that there are people out there that think this can't or won't happen to them for whatever reason....

You did the right thing by sharing, people are going to draw their own conclusions anyways-  like they say damned if you  do, damned if you don't...   this guy just caught some disease and some people will only be concerned over the business of the ladies he's reviewed-  amazing- talk about putting the pussy on a pedestal....

I imagine for some guys the name of the lady would be important but then again thats why you backchannel- no need to do that here....

Omaha, you should really think about contacting the lady in question, that way she can take the necessary steps for treatment- because as its been stated numerous times, most people who have herpes don't even know they have it

Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, and I don't intend to minimize anything because I am a hypochondriac at heart, but this sounds very atypical.  If my doc gave me this diagnosis, I'd seek a second opinion.  Herpes usually occurs on skin that is consistently moist.  Herpes 2 on your nuts from this contact is like getting Herpes 1 on your cheek cause your great aunt with a cold sore gave you a kiss.  I'm not saying this is impossible (I am not a doc) but it seems very unlikely from everything I've read.

He probably has syphilis.
He obviously wasn't getting tested in the first place or he would have a better idea of when he contracted his diseases.
No one seems willing to admit that herpes or syphilis makes you very vulnerable to HIV.
Also is he going to tell his wife so that she can have a choice about being exposed to a life long disease?
I am very picky and I always speak out about these things out of RESPECT for my lovers and myself and all of OUR potential partners.
When I found out that syphilis was going around via oral sex right here in DC I told EVERYONE I know and we ALL went and got tested right away to head off any issues because we were having oral sex. We were all negative by shear luck.
This is why I have 800 numbers on my shitlist-all admitted drug users. The majority of people spreading syphilis are drug users. I am picky who I see because I don't want any consequences for me or anyone else.
Lorena Bobbitt's husband gave her herpes too.
There are steps that can be taken to avoid contracting diseases. It is not fair that wives, girlfriends,or future partners could contract cervical cancer from HPV because of someone else being irresponsible. Multiple partners increases HER risks of cancer.
There are supplements that help from spreading or contracting viral diseases like HPV and HSV.
I recently had full blown flu and 103 fever and did not even get fever blisters because I take these supplements.
I will not see anyone I suspect of drug use because the CDc says that drug use is a big common factor in STD (syphilis).
Most people are in denial about the seriousness of HSV 1 -95 % of the population is infected and it transfers to the genitals and vise versa.
Please make better choices. Please protect yourselves and your civvie mates as well as the providers. I DO AND YOU ALL SHOULD TOO.
I have known so many providers who have had HPV and Hep C. They are beautiful and VERY popular.
And ,no ,I will not give out there names. Take the appropriate medications, supplements, and behavior and you will be ok and so will YOUR partners.
