I have my eye on a lady I would be very willing to drive up and see.  I contacted her and she does not tour but has suggested I come see her since Philly is not that far.  Info/advice on the following would be helpful:

if they will be in Center City.  So much more relaxing than fighting the extremely busy Interstates, on the regular train (non-Acela) it's about 2 hours each way which you'd be hard pressed to beat driving.  If you can schedule the trip a few weeks in advance it's only about $ 35 each way (again, don't take Acela, about an extra & 100 each way saves you a bit more than 15 min.!).  And $ 70 R/T isn't bad compared to gas, tolls (lots) & parking (in Center City its very $$).  And to an old romantic like me, the train trip adds a sense of adventure.  Plus while you're waiting for your train back to DC there's a great pub in 30th Street Station, lots of craft brews & imports including some Belgians.  Just my & .02.    

Please share the name. Some of us might consider taking that trip too ;-

greyhound from b'more is like 18 bucks round trip.  there's many more options from dc (bolt & mega bus) that are even better deals (I hear)

It's about 130 miles by car from DCA to PHL.  Drive usually takes about 2-1/2 hours, depending on traffic. Tolls are $24 round trip. Watch out for speed cameras in MD east of Baltimore. Best time to do the drive is over the weekend.  

I have done hobby trips to Philly a few times. Weekend or Thursday are good. Plan on getting a hotel room to spend the night after the session.  The Philly ladies will wear you out so make sure your are well rested.

I've done the Baltimore to Philly drive for an appointment.  For me, it's not much further than getting to Tysons.  As long as it's the weekend, it's not bad at all.

I was stubborn and didn't try amtrak for the longest while. For a one time trip it's doable but def not something fun and after the long highway drive your just kinda beat. Being on a train for 1 1/2 isn't exactly fun but it's not terrible either, definitely much easier and better than driving. Also if booked in advance it's probably a little cheaper than parking, tolls and gas would be.

She's been on my Radar and long time.  It's time.

I don't want to be tired and full of road rage when I get there.  If I do drive I may get a hotel and stay overnight and see two ladies during my visit to make the stress of the drive worthwhile.
