what part of DC would it be?? For convenience and safety?

Hands down.  Metro, safe, cafes

Since I don't work in DC or MOCO I rarely go there adn when I do it is a pain

Close to Metro, lot's of cabs running on CT ave.  Loads of restaurants and shops for down time.  Best location in NOVA is Tysons.

I'm seeing a providor there this week, and unfortunatly I'll be driving in. Hows the parking situation?

Either Tysons or Dulles/Herndon.

there are basically two types of hobbyists in DC.  One group is pretty urban and uses Metro a lot and is comfortable getting around without their car.  The other group is wedded to their cars and hates going downtown because of traffic and scarce/expensive parking.  The former group prefers ladies visitiing in Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, Thomas Circle, etc.  The latter group prefers Tysons Corner, Dulles Airport area, etc.  I'm convinced that there is little chance of converting anyone from either group to the other.  I, for example, use Metro all the time, frequently see providers in downtown DC, and am so put off by the construction & traffic gridlock that Tysons Corner has become will not go there except maybe for an exceptional lady I've seen before.  The other school won't venture downtown to see anyone and abhor public transit ('I'm not paying a car loan so I can ride the bus/subway!').
So what a lot of ladies do is split their time, a couple of nights downtown followed by a couple of nights in Tysons.  One slight compromise location is Crystal City in Arlington, which has both a Metro stop and extensive underground parking which is free after 4:00 weekdays and all day on weekends.
One caution, if you don't have a car, staying in Tysons Corner can limit your choices as to where to eat.  Most hotels are not easy walking distance from many restaurants so you are sort of limited to the hotel dining opportunities (which may be perfectly OK).  If you're downtown, there are usually many restaurants within easy walking distance, perhaps a bit pricier (they're paying downtown rent).
Hope this helps.  I believe this is the way it is.  I believe the previous responses support/illustrate this.

YES so please don't forget about us.

Central D.C. provides the best area for high volume because of the short distances to hotels, businesses and government departments, and private residences. The Tysons Corner area would limit opportunities for business because of less density and long travel times.
In the Baltimore metro area I think that the BWI hotel district isn't all it's cracked up to be because of long travel times and increasing pressures from law enforcement and hotel staff. Baltimore City (Inner Harbor, Inner Habor East, CBD) would provide lots of customers from hotel guests, employees, and residents. It's up to the marketing and schedualing practices of the escorts or their agencies to operate in these environments as best they can.

The DC/NoVa/MD area is too large and has too much traffic to have any single "best" location.

From a general convenience and safety point of view Tysons, western DC (Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, GWU, DuPont, etc.), and Crystal/Old Town all have pluses and minuses.  I would say that the corridor going towards Balt is a less desierable area for several reasons, mostly reputation and safety.

One factor not talked about is how much if any "tourist" time you wish to have.  Many come to DC area and work a few days/sightsee a few.  In that case Tyson's is not a realistic option and something on the metro would be better.

If forced to pick a single area, I would suggest the Foggy Bottom area for ease of access, restaurants, safety, and sightseeing.

Your best bet is Old Town Alexandria or Crystal City/Pentagon City.  Why?  Metro accessible, thousands of hotel rooms, minutes from the Airport, and things to do if you take some time off.   It's a very short drive over the bridge for anyone from DC.
It's the only spot that's central between Tysons and Dupont so you can draw clients from either.  The Pentagon is a few metro stop away (plenty of customers) and no need to change trains since both the Blue and Yellow line run through.

Old Town Alexandria and Crystal City are good choices with some compromises. Old Town Alexandria and Crystal City both have great restaurants. Crystal City is Metro accessible. Old Town has basically 3 different areas. West Old Town near the Masonic Temple is the only part that is Metro accessible and parking is not as good although Metro lot is free on weekends. On weekdays you need a Metro Pass. North Old Town is a cab ride from Metro but usually has plenty of parking. East Old Town (by the river) has shops and restaurants but has limitted street parking although there are parking lots that are cheaper than DC or MD.
