The one that I have in mind, you can redact your entry if you reach an agreement with the guy. Perhaps the one you are thinking doesn't have the capability. Feel free to PM. I have seen several entries which said that the information was redacted, and the aforementioned reason was provided.
Also, you have only been around less than a year, so in last year or so website could have changed, but back in 2011-12 you could very well redact your entry. So that's another angle. There are ways to tackle guys who cancel all the time. Next time make him pay 50% of the deposit through Greendot. Simple solution. Going public with his personal information is neither smart nor safe.
I have discovered that I have been placed on the Stinky List (for canceling appoinents). The real Problem is that the post contains personal contact info. I desperately need advice about how to get that post removed.
Their website had info about going through some outfit called Phoenix Investigations, and that they are the only route for having a posting removed. At the same time they blast this outfit for trying to hack their server. Really strange.
Please spare me the advice about not canceling appointments, about hiding my ID etc. trust me lessons learned.
I would really appreciate any advice or guidance anyone can offer.
Many thanks. Please feel free to message responses to me.
plaguing hobbying in last few years. Providers can and often do blacklist guys for silliest of reasons thus exposing their personal data and destroying the trust. Some people who are danger to hobbying and society at large need to be blacklisted. PERIOD.. This is a tool that could be very useful if used wisely, but unfortunately providers have become their own worst enemies. The smart ones know not to trust these lists completely.
That being said, you need to contact the provider (if you have any idea who it is) to get the listing removed. Paying third party may or many not work. I have heard of people throw away a few hundred dollars on these services with nothing to show for. If you are really care about that info not being their, your best bet is to contact a lawyer, but be prepared to spend in neighborhood of 4 figures for the job.
In the long run you need to wise up. There is no pussy that's worth your privacy. I have hobbied for over 11 yrs in DC area w/o ever sharing my real name or employment information.
I believe in blacklisting within the industry but it shouldn't trickle into clients personal lives, yes we have bills to pay, yes there are time wasters but should we end up screwing up someone's personal life because of it? The only time I think it should be allowed to post personal info is if a client is dangerous.
