That is very sweet of you. I'm very excited to see DC! I want to see the Lincoln statue and if I have time, the Smithsonian also. I'm glad a few of you let me know that DC is still a calm place to be. I was a bit worried after the late night news last night. I was able to reassure my out-of-town clients that they have nothing to worry about when travelling in.
I'm arriving tomorrow morning to DC and am a bit worried on what to expect upon my arrival. Ive heard the news and wonder will the city be busier then usual, road blocks, traffic jams, enhanced security, hotels overbooked, ect? I have never visited DC before, and not sure what to expect since this news on Bin Laden. Thankyou for any head's up news on what to expect. I'm very excited to Visit DC, but my timing perhaps was not the best... Still, I'm very excited to see the cherry blossoms and the new friends I'm going to meet.
It'll just be the usual mayhem, but on a smaller scale from what your used too.. Honest you'll be fine.. Oh, the cherry blossoms are long gone but the azaleas and dogwoods are in bloom which I think are even more spectacular. Hope your stay here is fun and prosperous!
But azaleas and dogwoods are lovely too. I just always heard DC was famous for cherry blossoms and that was one thing I REALLY WANTED to see and admire.
about the 4th), but we have the US Botanical Gardens, the National Arboretum, and all the lovely dogwoods, azeleas, & other late spring/early summer flora. Welcome to our beautiful city!
Welcome to DC. Coming from NYC you shouldn't have any problems navigating the city. However if you need a guide I'd love to volunteer...especially if you'd like any recommendations for restaurants and bars. I can't wait to meet you dear- I love Irish girls.

just one. The most popular are the Air & Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, & the American History Museum. There's also the American Indian Museum, several art Museums (e. g. National Portrait Gallery & American Art Museum) and the Zoo. There are even 2 Smithsonian Museums in New York City, a branch of the American Indian Museum, & the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, both in Manhattan. So I hope you get a chance to explore whichever ones interest you. I hope you enjoy your visit; I'm pretty sure they guys here will!
