They have made an improvement that I noticed tonight. They will show all the pictures with the ad. That way you can all the phone numbers used for the ad and other references.

I hope that I preaching to the choir, but let met outline the steps to help avoid getting scammed.  I hope that this posting is unnecessary, but I still see many threads with some poor guy discussing getting ripped off or asking if woman X is a rip-off.  Here’s how to decide for yourself.

To me, there are two categories of fraudulent posters on Eros which I call the “permanents” (about 10% of the ads) and the “visitors” (about 20%).

The permanents have been around for years.  When they get a bad review, they change their name slightly, for example Destiney/Destanee/Destani /Destinee/Destiny/Destine using the same pictures, and change their phone number to avoid detection.  Recently, I have noticed that the permanents seem to be changing their phone numbers every few months regardless of whether they receive a review or not.  If you meet one of the permanents you are going to be screwed (figuratively, not literally).  They take your money, and you get nothing in return.  I keep discovering the same reviews over and over.  STAY AWAY!!

The characteristics of the “permanents” are:

1. Their thumbnail on the left of the Eros webpage posts no service area, like “[Dupont Circle, BWI]”.  There is just a name, for example Reese, Victoria, Shakila, Jessika, etc.

2. Their web page has no link to a web site.  Check the names Reese, Victoria, Shakila, Jessika on the Eros website and note that they show just a phone number and an email address.

3. They have no TER review, or occasionally, before they can change their phone number, they have a 7/1 review or something similar.

4. They advertise very low rates, usually $200 or $220 per hour.

The “visitors” are traveling escorts who are (very probably) using someone else’s pictures.  If you make an appointment, you will probably get laid, but not by the person in the pictures.  These web sites have several similar characteristics:

1. Their web page has no link to a web site with only a phone number and an email address.  See http://www.eros-dc.com/files/325398.htm or http://www.eros-dc.com/files/325985.htm

2. Their pictures are very professional.  Note: the pictures usually come from
a. ModelMayhem.com
b. London escort sites, or
c. College girl sites like http://www.collegehumor.com/hottestgirl/2010/BarbaraM  (last 3 images)

3. They have no TER review.

4. They advertise normal rates, 300 to 400 per hour.

If a web site meets all the four criteria above, you need to check the “visitors” using Google images.  To use Google images

1. Open the escort’s web page, for example http://www.eros-dc.com/files/325985.htm

2. Save the page as a “webpage complete.” on your desktop-not a “Web-Archive, single file”-which will result in a file with a name something like “Washington DC Escorts on the Eros Guide…” and a folder “Washington DC Escorts on the Eros Guide…”

3. Open www.google.com and on the home page click on the “Images” button in the upper left corner, which will open a Google images page.

4. Click on the image of a camera in the text box on the page.

5. Click on “Upload an image” in the “Search by image” box

6. Click on the “Browse…” button, and browse to your desktop -> the folder “Washington DC Escorts on the Eros Guide…” to a folder which has a name similar to “325985_files”

7. The pictures from the web site will have names like “eros-washingtondc-samantha-fv2” with endings “-fv2”, “-fv3”, and “-rv1”.  Click on one of these pictures to start the image search.  For example, clicking on the “eros-washingtondc-samantha-fv2” picture will give the result http://tinyurl.com/b7ph3d7 .  This result is 8 pages of web pages in London, New Hampshire, etc.  At this point I think we can conclude the Samantha is a fraud.

You can perform Google image searches for the “permanent”, but tracking the changing phone numbers and searching for their review under the old phone numbers is best.  i have been trying to do that.

It can be fun meeting the challenge of determining whether a particular advertiser is fraudulent or not.  Frauds have several common characteristics, but you can expect these characteristics to change once they become well-known enough to impact their 'Take.'  The one characteristic the frauds can't change, however, is reviews, or lack of them.

With the general availability of review sites, like TER,  Imho no 'Newb' or even casual hobbyist, should ever see a 'Lady' who is not well-reviewed, especially if you are a traveler or new to the region. There is no reason for it, the plethora of well-reviewed Ladies that are available is mind-boggling.  Only the uninitiated, or uninformed are tempted by that risk.

EROS is so riddled with scams, it's not even worth it to me to go there.  With TER ad boards and 3 or 4 other sites to see who's visiting, EROS became redundant in addition to untrustworthy.

And the chances a real provider advertises there and NOT one of the other sites I check is likely slim.  So you aren't missing anything.
