Bookstores and Theatre

I was wondering if anyone had any leads on independent book stores - I find the collection to be a lot better then the chains.

Also, I'm searching for off-the-beaten path theatre.  Are there any neat little theater houses that people can point me to?

Many thanks!

I'm not sure where you are but you should check out the Creative Alliance at The Patterson in Baltimore City.  They have a lot of neat events there as well as exhibits and screenings.

Depending which area you are in either Baltimore or DC. I have included my favorites for both. Enjoy.

If you are in the mood for foreign languages, there is an independent bookstore in NW DC,Tempo Books,

You can also try Politics & Prose for books on different topics. It is on Connecticut ave, www.politics-prose.com

Another good choice is Kultura's second hand books (rare books), Dupont circle or NW DC http://www.kulturasbooks.vpweb.com/

Good luck

Much appreciated. I have noted down these locations. I'm a bit of a collector and adore finding bookstores I can get lost in for hours.
