both have had their ups and downs.  I've had great luck with both and bad luck with both. Since we are dealing with humans, there are always going to be variables from day to day. Not a great answer, but an honest one.

Like others...have had good & bad experiences with both.  

My experience with agencies has been that the smaller mom & pop outfits do better than the big establishments.  Haven't found any here in NoVA but when i lived in Miami, there were two or three small agencies that had very few girls (1 - 6) but all high quality, all very gfe, and better rates.  They knew their girls well and took care of them.  These got my repeat business obviously.   The large agencies tend to have a high turnover rate and don't get to know their girls well, and thus while they might make recommendations in good faith, they really don't know.  You're right about the advertising and screening which is partly why agencies tend to keep more of the cash.  It's a volume business and i tend to stay away from big agencies.

Independents tend to be more gfe and the good ones build & hold a steady client base.   Boards like this one are key to sustaining quality independent providers.

Gotta love those independent girls

Unquestionably, my best experiences have been with independent escorts.  I have never been hit up for extra fees, coitus interruptus from clock-watching overbooked escorts, constant phone call checks from the agency handler, bait and switch traps, girls smelling of sex from the client they just saw 15 minutes earlier, horrible bed-side manners, and a lack of connection or chemistry.  While I am making broad generalizations and I have had incredible sessions with agency girls, I much prefer to go with the "sure thing" and stick to independents.  They tend to be lower volume providers, more attentive, classier, and willing to invest the time to develop a rapport with you.  Another factor is that I consider the initial contact, exchange of emails and phone calls as pre-foreplay and would much rather talk to the escort directly than some burly guy named Bruno.

I can't say I have a good reason for going the Indie route but I do.  I've always thought, don't know if it's right or not, that Agencies make bigger targets than Indies for LE.

If I came across a girl who I really wanted to meet that was with an agency then I'd do it only if it was out of town. Having both the agency and girl in the same state would make it too easy for a local LE to pursue.  Having the agency in one state with the girl in another would require cooperation between jurisdictions that just wouldn't happen.

Then again, I could be full of shit!
