Question: Is there some kind of scam going on with soldier coming back into the country???

Hello my friends!  
I know! long time no see, but I've been keeping a low profile and dedicating more time to the family than to my "Fun friends"  
Anyway! I have a question: is there some kind of scam going on with soldiers coming back into the country??
Lately I've been getting several emails requesting multi-hours meetings, mentioning that are soldiers returning into the country and not having references??  
For obvious reasons, have not met any of this gentlemen... but I'm still curious...

Have any of you heard of something similar before??
