I have a few pictures up, but do not show my face, due to my "day job" , My question is.... Does it greatly affect business by not posting pictures of my face in them? Is it worth showing my face, or is it not even a big issue?

And I agree with this poster - you show plenty. I like the way you did this too. You have very pretty lips.
Look it up. http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/16/technology/security/fbi-facial-recognition/
Also, the photo she posted that shows her tattoo is never a good idea. It is a risky thing to post. It does not protect her identity. Sorry. I am dead set against any portion of the face showing. It is never a good idea.
...identifying a person based on just a portion of the face showing.
But ultimately, each lady gets to decide this for herself. As a guy, I do like to have some idea of what a lady's face looks like, whether it's just the mouth, or a blurred shot. Certainly gives a lady a leg up.
Facial recognition software is imperfect. However, it is constantly improving. Do not go by this one article. There are many, many other reports out there to read. I advise you to read more about it. Facial recognition software is improving all the time. Don't fool yourself into thinking it has not improved and that LE isn't using it. They are using it every single day. Post a photo on FB. Most of the time FB already knows who the people in the photo are. How is that? Because FB is testing and using facial recognition software!
It is risky, dangerous, and not at all prudent for any provider to show her face. Above and beyond the legal ramifications... if the photos a lady posts were on the evening news, would she feel 100% confident she would not be recognized by her family and friends?! Her life could be destroyed all because someone thought showing her face would give her "a leg up" ..so to speak.
I can appreciate and understand your desire to see a ladies face first. However, I think it totally sucks for the ladies. Their entire future could be destroyed, or adversely affected by posting a face pic. I would hope more clients would appreciate and understand that.
I think they know the risk involved with putting their photos up on the internet - with or without facial recognition.
There are trade-offs to all decisions the parties in this hobby make.
The collective practices reflect how we, ladies and gents, assess the risks on the whole.
Perhaps the practice will trend in the direction you hope they will (no portion of face, blurry or otherwise, in any image) - which I'm sure it WILL if more and more ladies run afoul of the law for showing even just their lips and chin, etc.
And if so, guys will adjust to the new reality (even as they secretely long for the view that even a naqab would allow lol!).
Having said all that, when I started hobbying, I was surprised by how many women fully showed their faces in their ads, for anyone on the planet with the internet to see. So I understand your basic point, but it is the ladies call to make - not mine. And the current reality is, an alluring face with a beautiful smile is still an overwhelmingly powerful magnet for most men
but looks like you have something that gives an idea of what your face looks like and if those pics are representative you should be fine.
BTW, the TER link doesn't seem to be working on your About page -- just see some html and not the TER logo. Could be wrong but I think the IMG= needs to be in the anchor tag, like the href= , and not a separate tag within the anchor tag as it looks like you have it.
I think it is fine and normal. You also show enough to give a good idea. All is very nice.
There are so many other things you can do to boost business other than showing your face. If you are prepared for your family, friends, coworkers and possibly LE knowing your identity then go for it but in my opinion it's not worth the exposure.
You neeeeeever know who's looking for companionship...maybe your boss, maybe your brother or uncle, a neighbor or friend. If someone you know stumbles upon your pics showing your face would that be devistating? If so don't risk it. I have friends who show their face but their lifestyle is not a secret and they do say it increases business
If you have ANY concerns at all, don't do it. I'm out to my family and close friends, but I've never shown my face, especially having had a real job.
Think of all the random sites that steal our info, and generate fake ads to pull in members and web traffic. They are all over the place. I've seen fake ads of me, even recently, that have photos I haven't used in 5 years. So if you show your face, it'll probably end up on one of these sites. So even if you get out of the biz, pull your ads, your website, etc- your face will probably still be out there somewhere on some random escort site.
And that happens, then obviously you run the risk of a future job seeing it, someone you know, or a future spouse, your kids etc.
I had an experience a while ago where I screened my own boss at my civvie job 😂 Of course I responded politely saying "i think we are not a good match"...
Showing face can affect me in many ways, future and current job, friends and family.
I'm a good girl outside this "part time job".... and noone would ever imagine what I do. LOL!
I am not in a relationship, but if / when I am ready for one I don't want to have my face all over the place.
For those ladies with kids... it can affect life, divorce, child custody and other legal things that are nit worth it to be involved.
My face is pretty... 😜 And I think some of my reviews mentioned.
No money is worth my privacy..
All responses were "right on the mark"
I let go of social media a year ago and I still see my face pop up very frequently on Pinterest and Etc. selling hair extensions and the like. My friends are always seeing them too. It really creeps me out.
Would never post my provider photos with my face in them, I can only imagine where they would go and I'd never be able to pull them off the net.
...I'm more likely to book if a provider has a face pic. Often when I'm looking to hobby, I'll narrow it down to two providers and if one has a face pic and the other doesn't, I'll usually go with the one with the face pic. Not a deal breaker though and pics that show part of the face are helpful. Having said that, I can understand the concerns some providers might have about showing their faces.
Facial recognition software is not a thing of the future. It has been around for a long time now. It is being used everywhere. You can Google it to learn more.
I would not recommend any provider show her face on her website or in her ads. It is not safe. This business most likely will not be something you will be doing your entire life. However, if you put your face out there, it will be out there forever. Not just for today. FOREVER. If you decide to move on from this business to go back to school, get a real life job, get married, raise a family, etc, do you really want photos that can link you back to this business?! I know if it were me, I certainly wouldn't.
If a client chooses not to see you because you don't show your face, then so be it. My reply would be: "Sorry. I am not going to compromise my entire future by posting photos of my face online for all to see." Do not email anyone a face photo either. Protect yourself. Protect your identity. In doing so you protect your future.

A blurred face is also nice. But with pics and reviews like yours, I'm looking to book. ![]()
T.O. keeping your appointments and avoiding no-call no-show situations would go a longer way to furthering your marketing plans. . . followed by presentation, attitude, hospitality and performance, of course.
